St Augustine, FL GTG December 11th

Like our fearless mod, i won't make it to the Tampa gtg...

So I got the idea that we should have a small one in early December in St. Augustine. Anybody else into this idea? Talk about it here....

Cheers,

Chris

I was hoping you guys would see this. I think it would be easiest to do this on a Saturday. I leaves us with Dec 4th, 11th, and 18th. Raf said he cant make it on the fourth so perhaps we should aim for the 11th. If you guys are like me, the 18th will probably involve panicked las minute Xmas shopping. Let me know how you feel. Downtown St A. has a few good restaurants we could choose from....

The 11th would be good for me. I would like to recommend Harry's Bar & Grill on the bayfront near the Bridge of Lions as a possible meeting place, if you want to stay on the town side. Just over the Bridge of Lions a bit is Gypsy Cab - another excellent restaurant, specializing in urban cuisine.

Let me know where, and I will make the arrangements. Hopefully we are talking lunch???

Thanks Allan, lunch at either of those two places sounds great. If this works for the others, I'm in. A mid day meet allows me to get back to Georgia and take the SO out for a saturday night...which means I get to watch pigskin all day Sunday.

Its alzheimer's, give the old fart a break. When you get a chance could you please edit the thread title to December 11th instead of early December. I think this will be the best date for this GTG...

Looks like Dec 11th is a battle of the GTG's, KY vs FLA.

Any ideas on the location? A1A Alehouse on King Street, good micro-beer, maybe the King's Head on US 1 north of town, great little english pub with good food, Iggies on A1A, or maybe Barnacle Bill's Beachside.

I was mentioning Gypsy Cab on the island, or Harry's Bar & Grill on the bayfront as well.

That old fart has has too many breaks already, Chris. Why, he hasn't even reported for his stay in the "Big House" yet for eating protected species birds.

The thread title is changed!

Good choices as well

I will be bringing a new Rolex hat (Khaki) that I got from Rolex for the raffle.

LOL!!! Perhaps a vote is in order then. Here are the suggestions - vote for one in a post and the most votes wins:

Gypsy Cab - Anastasia Island (Urban Cuisine)

Harry's Bar & Grill - Bayfront (Cajun/Creole)

A1A Ale Works - King St. (Various/Seafood Specialties)

King's Head Pub - US 1 North (Traditional English Pub Grub)

Barnacle Bill's - Castillo Drive (Local Seafood)

There are many, MANY more, but these should give you a pretty good choice and variation, and they are all good!!!

If you can't decide, we can always fall back to MacDonald's.

That's not gonna work, Art. They are ALL about the same distance from I-95. I can provide you with a map once the location has been decided upon.

How've you been, buddy?

Quite well, my friend. We'll be glad to see you again! After the final decision is made, I'll PM you with location info. In fact, I will probably post a link in this thread for location directions, so no problem, Art!

Well King's Head is probably the easiest to get to from the I 95. Get off at the World Golf Village exit, go to US 1 turn south and its about 3 miles south from the intersection of World Golf Village Drive and US 1. You can't miss the big double decker bus.

A1A Ale House could be a bit difficult on parking on a Saturday, didn't think about that when I suggested it.

The rest are all pretty equal in distance and parking.
