Just because the AD has the Rolex Explorer does not mean that is the Explorer you want.

The (pre 2016) Explorer has the white gold 3/6/9 (non lume) and has the shorter minute hand; the (2016) Explorer has the blue lume on the 3/6/9 and has the longer minute hand.

Look at it twice or three times to make sure the one you are holding is the version you want.

I'm looking for the newest with the 369 lume. It's head to head between that or the blnr but i think I'm heading towards the explorer

They are extremely easy to find at virtually every UK AD. In fact, even in the UK I'd be pushing for a discount on that model.

I don't think they're popular tbh. The models people are hunting seem to be :

SS Sub/ND
SS GMT/BLNR
SS Daytona C
Deepsea D-Blue

Yeah I don't quite understand this. Is it people wanting what they can't have, fun of the chase perhaps, herd mentality, mimicry, oh I don't know: do we have any human behavioiur experts on the forum

I think that's spot on. Say you can't have it and people want it.

Not US nor America at all, but if you happen to come to Beirut, they have most SS sport models. (except the Daytona of course)

Prices are good because they rely on CHF and VAT is returned when leaving Lebanon.

Is it me or do things seem to be easing up slightly ??

On another note, the prices of the SD4K are getting up there. From something that AD couldn't get rid of to hot property in a few weeks.

I sat at an AD with that very watch in one hand and a SubC ND in the other and like many other thought the price difference wasn't worth it. In hindsight I'm starting to wonder if I should have gone the other way. Easy to say now though

I'd agree with you. There was a new member on here who picked up a 114060 in Chester at the weekend, I managed to get a Dblue with only a 3 week wait, also there seems to be plenty of 2017 UK sourced unworn sports models on EBay. LVC, BLNR and Dblue. So they are definitely filtering through.

I think you'd have a chance of a discount for TT or Gold. Depends on the individual AD though.

Both fab watches congratulations. Would have to say the GMT is a perfect size of watch for me, I think the deep sea too big rather than GMT too small. However depending on your physical size you could be right. The deep sea I've tried on and it's way too big on me. Good luck whatever you choose.
