Panerai 312

Thinking about a Pam 312 as my first Panerai. Any thoughts? My wrist is a little over 6.5 inches.

Thanks in advance.

I had one and really liked it. Nice features and balanced dial. Very substantial presence on the wrist. It sits a little tall, but it is by no means a deal killer. I think it is a very good value for a modern Panerai if you get once secondhand. I have 7.25" wrist, so your results may vary.

A 312 was my first Pam and I regret selling it. It's a very nice and well rounded piece for a first or last Pam. I'm now partial to hand wound movements but if you like autos then it's a killer piece.

Different strokes for different folks, my friend. As long as the OP likes the appearance of the PAM312 on his wrist, that's all that matters.

I think the 312 is a fine Panerai to start with, of course, I might be a bit biased since I came to the same decision recently. Further, from everything I've read and been told by folks who know much more about the brand than I, the 44mm size will hold its value better than the 40mm.

I say go for it.....Just got myself a PAM372 and lovin' every moment and minute with it and.......i have a wrist size of 6.5" too and at 47mm it fits just fine (am used to 42mm usually but with PAMs the attraction is for it to be BIG rite? Or i'd like to think so). If you can wrap your head around the size first then i'm sure you'll be very surprised at how well it fits and like many would testify, it'll dress up and down with a simple strap change. And now for a picture for some encouragement -

So I just found out that my wrist is actually 7 1/4 ". Of cause started looking at straps.
Watch still fits great. The guy who told me I had a 6.5 inch wrist was totally wrong.

I had one, never really bonded with it as it was just to clunky on my 7 inch wrist

It sits really tall for my liking, I loved it when it wasnt on my wrist tho. I ended up flipping it for a SubC and dont really miss it.

Maybe I have a flat wrist because it fits well. I still have my Rolex Sub ~ 10 years now. I've only been wearing the 312 now. I like the weight.

Great choice. I have a small wrist and love my 328, which is the same case. To, unless you go gmt, radiomir or sub, the 312 has the most balance and best dial

I have 6.5 wrists too. I wore it and loved it. No problems with it not feeling right. I only flipped it for a 372 (when they were hard to get). I regret that flip because the 372 didn't stay long. Now that was too large for my 6.5 wrists, sadly. Otherwise a beautiful watch. Can't go wrong with the 312. One of my favorites that covers all the bases for me.

The 312 will work. It's a great timepiece.

It's a great piece, and was my first Pam. I recall it fondly, although I had a bit of a love/hate running due to height. Ended up doing a trade for a Datejust II.
