I own the same exact model. In my opinion, it still remains the single best value proposition (particularly in the chronograph subcategory) in the watch market. What is the Speedmaster Professional's competition? It's likely a Breitling Navitimer, IWC Pilot Chronograph, maybe even a Daytona. Assuming for a moment the Daytona just isn't realistic and is in another league, and having owned the other two; nothing comes close.

To me; its the best all around chronograph, versatile, perfected in it's most recent iteration.

I'd put the Zenith Chronomaster Sport up there too.
