Finally pulled trigger on the Survivor!

After several years of trying on and talking myself out of acquiring one because of the oversized chrono pusher guards, I took the plunge today on a mint and complete Survivor.

I swapped the rubber strap out for a black horned back to "tone" down the rugged look. I think it works better with the horned back.

Overall, I am very pleased with the fit and comfort of this piece.

Big congrats, love it
Those pusher guards always remind me of iron railings though!

The Survivor came out in 2009. Limited production run of 1,000 pcs. DLC-ed titanium case with ceramic bezel and chrono pushers. It is a 42mm ROO.

That's pretty much all I know.

Thank you!

Believe me, I am toying with idea of wearing the Survivor without those oversized pusher guards (which also act as a crown guard). Very easy to remove them with a small hex key. But I worry it may take away from the character of this watch without the guards.

Hopefully with more wrist time, they won't "bother" me as much.

Will definitely do that tomorrow when there is ample natural light!

Congrats! The survivor is a very cool watch and with tons of detailing, a lot of them unique to this timepiece. Great pickup.

Pretty cool, amazing condition. Has it been refinished or kept in a safe all it’s life?

Love that shot! Congrats Ken, quite surprised you got this but that paves the way for you to wear 44s now I reckon.

Hey Ash, the watch is in excellent condition - no dings or dents in the DLC case that I can see with the naked eye; and the lugs are nice and sharp.

The only "wear" I see on this watch is on the "exposed" edges of the 4 of the hex screws (2 above 12 and 2 below 6) which have lost some of the black finish. The hex screws on this reference are partially "outside" of the outer edge of the CE bezel. If the loss of colour on these hex screws really bothers me, I can order a new set from our local APSC.

Overall, this Survivor is in much better condition than most that I have seen or tried on.

Thanks Neil.

I do love the look of the 44mm ROOs, especially the titanium model with its steel grey dial (26400io). But my 7" wrist just won't do it justice.

Thanks everyone for your positive feedback. I am definitely liking the ruggedness of the Survivor - a worry free timepiece so to speak.
