Trade YG sub for AP..?

Thinking of trading my YG blue sunburst sub for an AP - either a ROC Panda or a ROO Titanium.

I’d love to hear from owners of either - what do you like most / least?

Or

I have the 44 Ceramic Bezel in RG and couldn’t be happier. Presence is awesome, love this 44 series on AP. The one that you are considering has the advantage of being less heavy as the others because the titanium. And that could be an advantage for you, if you prefer the lighter weight.

The Panda is a beautiful watch, the Stainless Steel bezel gives you the classic look that characterizes the Royal Oak line. Looks beautiful but it’s also a little more high maintenance than the ceramic bezel of the ROO.

I think you should give importance how you intend to use it; if you want a feel a little more freedom and don’t baby the watch as much the ROO is your answer. Now if you want a more classy watch and use it more casual scenarios then Panda is probably best.

No wrong answer, both are beautiful watches

Good luck

ROC - more versatile. u can convert to strap (rubber or gator) if u want. but don't think u can (easily, if at all) get bracelet for ROO. And depending on in ur wrist size, probably a far better fit.
And integrated chrono movement with column wheel and vertical clutch of the ROC superior to the modular of the ROO.

I agree with everything JorgeCCW stated. I went with the Ti44 myself. I would trade the Rolex for either reference, with the Ti44 being my first choice.

I would trade the Rolex for either. You are getting better value with the Ti, but man is the ROC Panda beautiful.

I’d definitely trade a Rolex for an AP.

I am a big fan of the 44mm line but in this instance between those two I’d choose the silver dial roc.

Depends on your wrist size to be honest. More than 7" go for the 44mm. Else i'd go for the ROC.

+1

I would suggest trying both models (ROC and 44mm) on in person before making the trade

I chose the Ti44. You’ll get best of both worlds (size, lightness), comfort, ceramic bezel, 100m WR. Try both on and then decide, can’t go wrong with either.

Love the panda! Can’t comment on AP as I have never owned one. On the other hand I do love subs, they wear so well.

I’d get the ROO Ti and then add a 15400 down the line.

Both are incredible

Typo right????

You meant the subs are a dime a dozen LOL

For me- I’d go the Ti ROO. Best thing to do though is to try both on before you commit to one. Both models are beautiful in their own way. Good luck with your decision

Trade YG sub for AP..?

I’ve owned a 44 RG and found it to just be very heavy. Loved the size, not the weight.

Reason I’m considering the Ti is simply the weight. Only reservation is that the colors might just be a little too monotone. Trying to find the new ceramic case but that’s sort of difficult.

I like the ROC’s dial and contrast but I also have a DDII which is in the same category of dress/sport.

Tough decision..

The Ti was too monotoned for me when I tried it on at the AD, but judging by a lot of recent posts, the Ti seems to come alive with a strap change

LOL is this a joke?

It's practically unheard of to spot an AP outside of a big/luxurious city. However I've seen mall workers in small towns with Rolex Subs.

Ahh, I didn’t pick up on that.

I like the YG sub with blue dial, don’t get me wrong! I think my living in a Florida and seeing them so many times turned me off of actually owning one though.

I worked at a Marriott resort as a bellman/valet Parker throughout high school. That was *the* watch for the boat guys and fisherman who would dock. I would always bring up watches to them and notate on what a nice timepiece they had. I think I had a Citizen at the time and would talk about how I aspire to own a nicer watch after saving. Needless to say, my tips superseded my friends by a long shot.

I wouldn't sell the Blue Subc, esp now you've sold the RG 44. I think the TI will be too dull by comparison, so I'd choose the Anthracite CE or Panda ROC if you decide to change.

Gérald Genta, the guy who designed the original Royal Oak back in the 70’s.

I would go with the panda because it is more APesque. The offshore seems a bit too chunky for me personally.

I just swapped my WG sub for blue dial Chrono.

I loved the smurf but Rolex is too common for ME. The AP is hot

Coming from a YG Sub...ROO Titanium all day.

In fact do the trade today - You'll love the wrist presence.

Then add chrono later

Both great pieces.

Both APs are amazing. Great idea. I think which AP depends on how it feels on your wrist and how you want to wear it. ROC looks more weekday watch you could wear to work and ROO looks more like a fun weekend watch.
