Got me some American muscle!
So I pulled the trigger on an American Muscle truck. My wife who has been driving Mercedes three row SUV for the last 10 years to haul the kids around, the latest version a 2017 GLS450. Although an incredible vehicle, I have been itching for something that brings me back to my car crazy roots. A nice big honking V8. So I have been researching this 2018 Dodge Durango SRT and decided to swap the MB for this American muscle. This SUV hauls ass! It sounds the part too as it has the same exhaust as the Hellcat. I love this thing! My kids love it and more importantly the wife just loves it. She says it sounds so good and mean. It’s hilarious hearing her say this. I think she was a car person hiding in her little body. Anyway, some pics.

I’m completely upset that you didn’t take me on this journey with you. Obviously being playful!!! I’m friggin pumped for you. This thing is awesome! Huge congrats my brother from the car mother. It’s an absolute beauty. I was at a gas station recently and chatted up a dude that just bought one. He was beside himself with how much he loved it and how much fun it was. Hope you guys enjoy it!!

These things are crazy. I own a 2011 V6. Decent vehicle. Really love it. You'd actually be surprised how much Mercedes Benz is under that American Muscle actually lol.

Thanks guys! Seth, this thing cracks the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds! Dodge had it approved by the NHRA for the performance numbers because they wanted this to be the fastest 3 row SUV on the planet. It's incredible how much attention this truck gets. And the build quality is impressive. Like someone said, alot of mercedes parts in it. The technology in it is impressive too. Way too much fun. We have had it for two days and I am forgetting things on purpose so I can step out and get them. But man, what a gas pig. Oh well, it's fun polluting the planet right now.

Your in Canada too.....im sure you will love to fill it up with gas. I filled up both Mustangs yesterday at Exxon 93 octane ....3.04 a gallon....77 bucks to fill up both. |

Congrats on the new beast! Love the look/colors. IMO, Dodge did a better job on the exhaust notes than Jeep on the SRT's. I went for the Jeep SRT as I like the look/brand and didn't need the 3 row arrangement. I'm with you, moving from German to American Muscle. Nice change, sound etc. Also, last of the old school normally aspirated V8's. Soon to be gone.. I just got in from a 90 mile trip 19.7mpg doing 66-72mph. Not that bad for a 6.4 liter V8.. Sounds like you and your wife are enjoy her new car! Hope the smiles stay for the life of the car. |
