a better rolex

This is my recommendation for a better Rolex:
1. I like a date function but do not care for the cyclops. Time to give it up or offer a date without the cyclops.
2. my datejust 11 is a perfect size (41mm) but the hands are too thin for a good lume. Rolex should use the thicker hands such as on my GMT master
3. Rolex should clean up its face. Way too much writing. I count over 70 letters excluding the "swiss made". Its a watch...not a billboard. Cut the writing way down. Just "Rolex" should be enough. If you have to have more put it on the case back.
4. Change out the bracelet to the fold over security class such as on trhe GMT and other sport watches.

I would be your first buyer

Welcome to TRF

Sounds like you're looking for a Tudor NorthFlag.

interesting observation/commentary...Rolex could remove the 'officially certified' & just leave it as 'superlative chronometer' or 'precision'.

on the other hand, the cyclops magnifier is part of Rolex's 'trademark' appearance & at best, maybe could be offered as a with/without option.

Sounds like you've already got a few Rolex, why would they fix what ain't broke?
Isn't a Rolex without the writing just an Invicta?

If a Rolex without the writing, which I agree is now verging on gimmicky, is just an Invicta, I'd flip mine and wear something, anything, else.

That's quite a stretch...there is a lot that goes into the Rolex brand, only a part of which is based on the name.

Not quite imho. Just like a Tudor isn't a Rolex.

....and I agree with this. I tolerate the cyclops because I don't have a choice. (Can no longer read the date without glasses, cyclops or not, but I never liked it).

It's too bad that they wouldn't, (actually couldn't) for if they did they'd likely lose their butts.

I'm sure that when they discovered the margin in making 40x the number of watches that could go "deep" than would ever see any scuba at all, there was no turning back.

It's tactical
