One should be very careful trying on the random Rolex for laughs...
Congratulations. If you don't mind me asking what AD did you us?

I had this almost exact reaction lol. I went to my local AD like 2 weeks ago (I know I had wanted a submariner for years and years. My dad had the two tone with the blue face when I was growing up.) I had just kind of put it out of my mind because my early 20's were rough for me.

Alas I made a come back and am now running my own business and making decent money. After being in a better spot for a few years now the watch popped back into my head, and I thought hmmm maybe I should go check out the local AD while xmas shopping.

I always preferred the look of the no date better, but like you I thought I would regret not getting the date. So when I finally got to the AD I tried on both and my suspicions were confirmed, I loved the no date.

So last Sunday I went and picked it up from one of the trusted sellers on these forums and I couldn't be happier, I love it!

Congrats on the pickup man and wear it in good health!

LahJaa, thank you for being on the front lines keeping the peace.

I ended up with the Sea-Dweller but like you I was taken in by the Rolex story. Wear it in good health. Great pictures, BTW.

Amazing how I hear these "I never considered a no date" stories as it fits my purchase as well - I always had the "date" in mind, until I tried on the no-date. I tried on the date, loved it of course, then tried on the no date and it rang my bell. Completely unexpected.

Pictures are worth 1000 words, trying on a watch will cost you 7+ times that in dollars!

Great journey! I love reading stories on watches and how people got to where they are. Congrats and enjoy for years to come. It's a time piece that'll last a lifetime.
