I attended a private showing of the Paul Newman Daytona in LA today (cool pics)

I want to thank the Hodinkee guys for getting me on the guest list for this event,(great guys btw had a chat with one of them)the showing was put on by The Phillips auction house .Along with the iconic Paul Newman was also a great collection of other vintage watches not to mention all the vintage hardware in the room of the people attending.I even managed to get a pic of the PN out of the case for a selfie with my Red Sub, i figure there long lost cousins haha, met some great people & a chance to spend some up close time with the most infamous watch in the world ,before it goes into a private collection somewhere never to be seen again, even got a great glossy catalog with tons of pages of pics.

Surely, you remember when the story broke a few months ago.

I did not, but thank you. Lucky Dude to have scored this. I kinda hope at least part of the proceeds go to somewhere that Paul Newman would have liked.

I attended the event held in Seattle on the 10th. Incredibly nice, friendly Phillips personnel, and the watches were stunning! The 6200 was otherworldly, the Paul Newman Paul Newman was so cool, and it was great fun chatting vintage watches!

It's insane how many people will touch and try on that 6239 newman before it gets sold and exchanges hands.... sad actually.
