Not for me; never was and never will be. Now that I've got the SkyD it definitely has no purpose for me!!! Fad or not I won't drink the Kool Aid!!!

Seems like there have been a lot of posts about the BLNR and the impact on resale with the release of an unreleased coke/Pepsi. Kinda weird. I mean I suppose my current car would be worth less if all of a sudden driverless cars are released or cars that run on water instead of fuel. Or maybe then it's considered a classic? How about we buy what we like foe today and not worry so much about tomorrow.

I have absolutely no idea if Rolex will release a SS coke/Pepsi. But I'm Willing to bet that most BLNR owners ditch theirs immediately to "upgrade".

You mean most wouldn't ditch it. :) I sure wouldn't.

Yeh, I don’t see everyone selling their BLNR for a GMT Coke/Pepsi (not that PepsiC will ever happen)

Add to, but not ditch. Whats better than a GMT is having two GMTs.

One thing I am curious about is how anyone can think that a GMT can fit better than a Sub. The Glidelock with it's incremental adjustments is the best invention ever.
My friend, they are confused . How could anyone ever think it's nice to Yacht-Master written on the bezel, for instance. Look, the blnr is much nicer than the reg GMT. How could anyone spend all that money on a YG GMT before a YG WG Sub. How?! Mistakes happen my friend. We have all made them

Timeless or fad BLNR : GMT Master II

Is it possible that there is not enough Platinum on the arrow representing the 24hr market? In some light it looks like you can see a black triangle in it, in other lights it looks solid. Any thoughts or experience?

I love my BLNR... It was my first Rolex and is definitely a keeper for many reasons.

I don’t feel the need to own the BLNR personally, but the black and blue bezel is a classic, wearable in almost any situation and the gmt complication is very practical

It’s too early to b a classic. I have all the color, Pepsi, coke, black, brown, blue, fuchsia n now the blnr. There r only so many color to put on a watch before it becomes too gaudy. So yes I think it will b timeless eventually.

I blame it on the autoconnect.

Hello, yes is a common issue on gmt where on the triangle on the bezel and on the 24 hr hand the luminova material is less homogenous.

I had similar impression with sd43. I do not accept it even though rolex said is normal. Therefore flip flip.

Time ago I had my hand on 2 blnr at same time and one was perfect and one like yours. Finally I decided to don't take any of them because I cannot digest blu and black together

Same on mine and only at certain angles. Initially noticed it when I got it, but TBH I haven't thought of it since.

It is a fad the way Crockett and Jones or Church’s are. The same way a well tailored suit from Huntsman is. Peak or notch lapels may be the in thing at a given moment, but class is permanent.

Prob disagree with this statement as much as anything I’ve ever read on this forum.

I like big watches, have since I was 15, I’m 35.

Just sold my Sub and replaced with an SD43 as a daily.

Think most people who have a wrist of 7.5 inches+ would disagree with this too. I’ve always hated DD36’s, they’re beautiful, but look comically small on my wrist.

It’s a very fine piece. The color combination just never did it for me. Seemed a bit contrived.

Not a fad at all in my opinion. I believe it will be a classic for Rolex.

Word has it that the BLNR will be discontinued next week and prices will skyrocket to MSRP *3.14159.

:-)

It’s a beautiful watch.. personally, I think it would make a perfect secondary watch. I bought into the hype and bought it myself. It’s a gorgeous watch but just didn’t do it for it.

Nevertheless, be patient. Buy what you really like and enjoy it in good health!

BLNR and Batman both work for me! BLNR seems to be more internationally recognized.

I find this model to be singularly unattractive but it's obvious that lots of forum members like it. I think I'll keep my truly classic, non-faddish 16710.
