It's a sticker that comes off.

What puzzles me about the QR code is how many variations I've seen. Some are transparent. I've seen some on white, small rectangles.

All these tiny stickers are just like a barcode used at the Rolex factory to keep track on what model watch is stored where.Once watch has left factory on its way to any AD world wide its of no further use. And just a sticker like the rest of the stickers all mean to be removed as they are just bits of clear plastic.

Rolex White QR Code Sticker

My new Rolex comes with a very small white sticker with QR code at the side of the watch, ontop of the plastic protecter. Is it real? This the 1st time I saw this type of QR Code...
Once the white sticker removed out, I cannot see any QR code printed on the plastic protector...

This is normal. Some come with the bar code on the white sticker and others have the bar code printed directly on the clear case sticker.

If I am not mistaken these QR stickers only appeared on newer model Rolex. I got my son the Datejust a few months back, model 2017 and it has it, I anticipate my GMT II to have the same, will tell once it has arrived in my AD.

All new stock has the barcode (sticker) on the watch. It is removed at point of sale when the watch is sold. No secrets, or weird stuff going on here......now let’s put this 4 year old thread to bed.
