I’ve never Not seen one at us dealers. Some have offered a decent discount.

The LV isn't going anywhere, unless the LN is replaced as well. If that's the case, we would just be getting new versions of each with the 3235, the Submariner 126610LV and 126610LN.

Probably neither of those happening this Basel.

My AD's Rolex contact told her that no more would be made until February so that's causing the shortage. She wasn't told that it would be discontinued but just that they stopped production on those for this year. Who knows.

This, I believe. Once they start production again next year, the price will probably stabilize.

I’ve heard from several ADs that production was slowed, but I heard that a few months ago. If they truly have stopped until February then that seems like they are planning for an upgrade such as the new movement with longer power reserve.

I believe it's either that (1) the pieces allocated to be produced and released for 2017 have been released as scheduled and no more will be released until 2018 in which the same model will be released again or (2) the 2017 pieces have all been produced and released and a new version with an updated movement is being released in 2018. My AD didn't know and didn't ask.

Rolex deliveries to ADs are set for rest of year...and they may have mis-calculated the demand..

I have a friend that works as a manager at an AD and he called his Rolex guy in front of me and that's basically what he told him , not an LV thing only but the professional line in general , if that's true I don't know ,only Rolex knows but if he's right there's going to be a shortage of the more popular models like Subs and GMT's, again I don't know if that's true maybe they're just trying to create a higher demand but in the meantime prices are going up.

They told me if I want it they can get it for me bc I won't sell it to make a profit. AD knows who's a local and who's just looking to buy to flip a watch. Can I buy it?! I’m serious. I almost paid the premium to get it. I wouldn’t flip it either. Learned my lesson with my Aquanaut. I’d keep that!

I went to my AD yesterday thinking I might get lucky.

I was told I am #5 in the list and the wait should be 8 months. Sounded like the typical AD spiel, but let's see what happens.

It's how how Legends are made. The Sub is one of the most recognizable and popular Rolex of all time and the more unusual green model has desirability and mystique already. In the grand scheme, Rolex has made black Subs forever. The SS green will always be a rarity in the collection. You don't need a crystal ball to see where its heading.
20 years from now it will be a time when those that didn't buy one will be shaking their heads in disgust.

I noticed the increase in price since around late summer. Picked an LV up 2 weeks ago. My theory is that they may be holding back their most popular sports watches in anticipation of a price increase. Not sure they would discontinue the LVc as it is a popular watch and in fact I would be shocked if they do dc it. But in reality, no one knows what will happen except Rolex.

Supply constraints as demand increases, thus price increases? Don’t think there is much more to the story.

I think all this hype, which is driving demand, is insane. I don't know, nor care, whether Rolex are doing it deliberately, but I do know that human nature dictates that if something is difficult to get and so 'exclusive' people want it, but make it common and easily attainable, interest and perceived value diminishes.

I'm waiting to see people's reaction early Q2 2018 when they realize that the Hulk is still in production and ADs are getting their steady stream of inventory.

My AD told me a story (yes, I know...) that apparently some famous Japanese actor was wearing the LV in a movie, and all of a sudden it's very popular all over Asia, sparking the high demand.

I have no idea whether that's true or BS.

Why would owners care either way?? The LVc doesn't need rarity to sell, the Daytona proves that.

obviously it is a demand/supply issue. My AD got one in last week so they are still out there. I went to Leeds in PD last weekend and the sales guy said that he had 4 last month and that phone calls from out of towners got them all. He has not gotten one in a month. I would think a price increase is coming given how weak the USD has been. Currently the Canadian list price is less than the US with the exchange so i think they are going to rectify that.

Because the greedy bulls are asking $1,000 over MSRP. Sure, it's a capitalist society and their prerogative, but it will be interesting to see what would happen when the Hulk start making a reappearance in the ADs and those who purchased strictly based on speculation are now in the need to free up cash.
