For what purpose? SD43 is far more rugged and a great all around watch. AP is far dressier and wouldn't survive well outside that niche imho. AP is more collectible.

All my watches are Rolex. Never owned an AP, always admired the 15400 RG on Leather. But since it's release, been wanting a SD43 also.

I'll just get the SD43 later when the $ calm down.

They are two vastly different watches and their intended use. The Rolex is a more rugged watch and cost less to own in the long term.

Totally different watches, but for my taste the SD43 suits better as an everyday - no compromises watch.

AP in RG is different gravy, add the SD43 in time.

The SD43 is growing on me. I would take it over that particular AP, but not over a 15400 on a bracelet.

SD43 is the winner in my book. That AP doesn't look good imo.

SD

AP's styling does absolutely nothing for me. And I look at my wrist a lot.

But, I would add, that I've never had one in my hand or on wrist so you can never be 100% until you've seen it in the flesh.

I did a black face AP 15400 and after about 6 months moved it for my Daytona. I really liked it but just felt a bit to precious for my lifestyle.

X2. I've never understood the esthetic appeal. Not a fan of the dials, the hands/markers remind me of plain-Jane Breitling w/ no bold statement (so ordinary, they put me to sleep) and the cases have too hard of edges for my eyes...I've just never understood the hype.

Yes, mechanically I get it, they are a workhorse and no doubt will last a lifetime without missing a beat. But like others have said, I too have to like what I'm looking at. Glad so many people are fans, more power to you, I'm just not one of them. That OP picture...wow...I can't take my eyes off the 126600.

Two different animals. I don't pretend to know much about AP, but I do know a bit about the SD43... If you're looking for something to wear anywhere, do anything I vote SD43

With a name like moby surely you can understand not everyone finds the same things attractive.

Oh it's hard to choose. Because you have many Rolex watches, AP seems to be a good choice. But, SD43 looks so good on your wrist. Sorry can't help >_<

If you want an AP, why not go for something more special than a basic RO rose gold on alligator? Since you're interested in the SD43 you'd also be interested in a RO Carbon diver, which IMO is a much more special watch.
