Patek 5204P - in the flesh

Bam!

Just one of the many pieces on sale at the IWJG show in Brooklyn today. Will probably drop by again tomorrow.

Review from Hodinkee here back when it was released in Basel last year:

The 5204p is my holiest of grails ATM. One of my grey dealers even has a new one right now (damn him...)!

Patrizzi in da haus!

Bumped into Osvaldo Patrizzi at the IWJG show. We're all probably familiar with how he founded Antiquorum and helped build the Patek museum in Geneva; how he was ousted in 2007 and how he's still kind of mired in tussles with Antiquorum right now.

Controversies and intrigues aside, he was nothing but a gracious gentleman in my company, very knowledgeable and gave off no airs whatsoever. He had known my dealer for over 30 years and we exchanged pleasanties, but since I had browsed through much of his three volume work about collecting PPs:

Collecting Nautilus and Modern Patek Philippe Wristwatches (3 Volume Set)

... I couldn't help but snap a pic beside him. Heh heh.

OK, I may look a bit serious in the picture here but really, I was having a blast!

And so FremStar and I did see each other at IWJG

Had lunch at Shake Shack, and took a pic with a good book (and some decent watches).

Many thanks as always for spending time with me, my friend!

... it ain't me, and as far as I know it's not Sam either.

However, while we were speaking with said dealer he did mention that "a deal was imminent." I do not know if he ended up selling it to a fellow TRFer, but there were certainly a few present at the show!
