Congratulations on the 40th, a wife who supports your watch passion and a great watch tomorrow. I wasn't too fond of the cyclops at first on my polar Explorer II but grew used to it and then appreciative. When I wear my most comfortable Explorer I, I miss the date. I'd go with the GMT II myself.

Gmt has a busier bezel and a little of that bluish green to it so it's a special watch but I'd pick which function, sport or interest you most are akin too.

The GMT is more versatile, but the Sub is inevitable.

I'm hoping for a GMTc. Gives you a date and a second time zone along with the bezel that you can use as a marker. Makes it very versatile. The PCL also upgrades the piece to a dressier watch. Then again the sub is such a classic, it's hard to argue. Happy birthday and have a fun day and a great lunch. The day comes to be fashionable on time my friend...

GMT II only if you need a second time zone.
Sub C gets my vote. Advance wishes.

My choice would be the 114060; hard to find a nicer watch.

Have a great day and enjoy the buying experience! No wrong choice can be made.
The 114060 is perfection in my opinion. |

Its strange and hard to explain, but the 114060 is so much more than a sub without date
Greater than the sum of its components... and even the components it doesn't have |

Happy Birthday! I have to say as an only Rolex, you can't beat the Sub (and I'm a bigger GMT fan).

So, I was pretty certain that the sub would win. Clean dial, classic, all time keeper.
I tried them both on. And... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It just sang louder!
And I love it! Thanks all for the advice, good wishes and enabling. Now, I wonder how long before I can start talking about adding an 114060 without the threat of divorce! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
