Sorry to hear about your bad experience Ash. I've had absolutely splendid experiences with RM boutiques in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Toronto. Always had knowledgeable and patient staff who were willing to show me whatever I wanted even though I made it clear I wasn't going to buy today and that I thought the prices were very high.

And I do agree to a certain extent that the brand has now become the way for people to flash 100K plus on their wrist these days.

**OFFICIAL RICHARD MILLE PIC THREAD (and daily snap shots)**

The AD employees here in Beverly Hills are very stand offish, I’ve gone in a few times and was never approached just looked at by the Employee. I guess being a 21 year old I don’t fit the RM buyer profile.

RM is so hot, they can get away with it lol

remember these are just people are working at a sales job that they may or not enjoy

if they are rude, take solace in that it probably stems from insecurity.

by taking it personally and/or reflective of whatever brand they happen to be working for, you are giving them too much credit

That’s certainly a poor reception Ash.
Last time I visited RM in Harrods the guy was all over me - really helpful and he appeared genuinely appreciative of my knowledge of the brand. I have not come across the female sales person you had to deal with.
The Mount St boutique was way better than Harrods though - lots more pieces to view and staff very nice and courteous.
However have to say AP in Harrods was also extremely accommodating

Is Graham Skea still in charge at RM Harrods? He is lovely guy and always incredibly helpful. Maybe he is no longer there?

I’m not sure Roger as it is well over a year ago since I visited the Harrods RM Boutique.

No it's an Asian guy who's the manager now. He was there about 3 months ago when I went and I've nothing bad to say from that visit - he wasn't there more recently.

Concur with Ash’s opinion on this!

I was in the background while he was trying some piece on but was shocked to hear the sales lady call BS on Ash and his AD and tried to verify her knowledge by boasting about her dad...

She soon changed her tune when I pulled up the RM site on my phone and proved his AD was an RM approved AD

But regardless of this the whole way in which she composed herself towards us made me feel uncomfortable.

There’s me cancelling my RM orders

It's a shame to hear that, especially in London; in Asia I take that sort of service as standard and it is a positive surprise when I get proper service. It drives me insane when sales people appear to have no interest in or passion for the product they are selling, and to be rude and condescending is a disgrace.

Well, for most of them, its just another boring job they are forced to do for a living. Perhaps they are not properly incentivized.

Exciting times.

It's a shame when AD's ruin experiences for watch enthusiasts. In the Bay Area, CA we have a shop that is an AP and RM AD. The manager of the store as well as the other female employee were both extremely helpful when I was trying on AP's that when I went onto look at their RM stash, they remained just as helpful. Great people there. Maybe it's more shameful of the AD than the brand of RM them self. All one in the same, but to me a little different.

Its too bad. I love the watches but will never set foot in a boutique because of the attitude I received in Vegas the first and last time I went to the boutique there. Never even tried one on.

Back in the early 2000s, I worked in the automotive industry when auto sales flourished. The housing boom was in full effect and people were pulling tens and even hundreds of thousands out of their homes in order to buy things they wanted but didnt need.
At the time, I serviced a Mercedes dealer here in California where there were many sales staff who had this same mentality and attitude.
Back then, Mercedes didnt have a Dodge made entry level line like they do now so the clientele was still more posh and well to do.
One day, this old farmer walked through the door and asked to see the S500 sitting in the showroom. The snooty sales staff sent the new guy over to see what the dirty old man wanted. The old man asked for a test drive. Stinking of manure and looking like he was just rolling around with the pigs, the new sales guy humored the old many and let him test drive the car.
On their return to the dealership, the sales guy half seriously asked the old man if he would like to take the car home with him and the old man gladly said yes. He said that his wife recently passed away and that he always wanted to travel across the country in style to see the sights. He paid cash.
Moral of the story, treat everyone as if they are a cash buyer. You never know who is ready to buy and you cant always judge a book by its cover.

Really a shame how AD experiences can ruin it. I've had great experiences with RM boutiques and I definitely don't look the part. In contrast, I will never return to the only PP dealer in my city after the rude and condescending treatment I got from the owner, and the inability to try anything on (they keep all of their stock double sealed.)

It's a bit of an "o tempora, o mores" thing, I'd say. Cashiers at grocery stores and drug stores also treat everyone like a bother these days it seems like. When I was bagging groceries at 14, we weren't allowed to look at our phones or have conversations with co-workers when there were customers in sight. Now, I have to wait for people to finish their texts before they ring me up.

More on @millefanatics

First impression is very good, I am very happy. Yes, it is big - thicker and heavier than carbon 35 for instance but there complication plays a role. If i put velcro strap on it, it will become lighter.
