Yes I asked about having them ship it, but they wouldn't ship it. Maybe because they are at the airport? Their English isn't that great, so I didn't really push it.
As for why....I've wanted one of these for over a year and this is only the second one I've seen since the fall of 2014. So I figured I'd better jump on it or I might regret it.
I had hoped my next work flights would take me through Franfurt, so I could pick it up on my way back to work next week; but after I wired the money I got my new itinerary for my work flights and as luck would have it, they have me flying through Amsterdam and London next trip.
So I had no choice other than to go and get it.
As I work in Scotland and live in western Canada, I have lots of air miles, so My flights were free, and I had the time and means to do it.
So I went for it, and couldn't be happier! : )

I'm sure playing with it kept you occupied for the return flight. With a provenance like that, you can never flip that one.

Well since the flight was free and you had the time that makes complete sense. I would think your company should get you your own jet right now.

That is one of my most favorite Rolex watches but unfortunately my wrists are so small it would never look good on me. Once again congratulations.

Excellent adventure. Nice to see it was more than worth the effort. Beautiful piece on metal or rubber, looks excellent, enjoy!

I'm a NEXUS member, so I didn't have to speak to a Customs agent, i just used the machine to say I was over my duty free allowance.
Then I got a grumpy lady at the cashier desk.....she did't even comment I flew out Thursday and back Friday. In fact when I was getting my drivers license and credit card out of my wallet she yelled at me and said i can't play on my phone in here...as she thought i was on my phone...this made me a bit cranky, so i showed her it was my wallet i had in my hands, she didn't even apologize.....why are these people so grumpy??
She did take $1100 off the value for duty...but in the end she charged me as much as she could which was $1300 CDN ($1035 USD) for tax and duty : (
Because i travel so much i cant chance not paying....as they can stop me at any time while coming back in the country and ask me for proof that the tax and duties are paid. They can then seize the watch until you provide proof....or not!
So I bought myself piece of mind : )

I'm afraid not; I just got an economy ticket.
When i checked in, the lady at the counter asked me what I was doing. So when i told her I was going to get a watch, she said i should have gotten a business ticket, so i could lay down and sleep.
I told her I was too cheap to pay for a business class ticket, and needed to save my money for more watches
She thought that was funny!!

In fact the flight over was a bit hellish as they had oversold it. Now generally I would have been bumped up to business class because I have a Star Alliance gold card and am a Million Mile member with Air Canada.
But when you are travelling using miles, you can't get bumped up....so i was stuck in the back.
But I saved $1500 by using miles....so it was worth it for me; and on the way home I had an empty seat beside me, so it helped to make up for the first flight.
I need to save my air miles for flights to Hawaii at Christmas : )

Thanks......It's a Rubber B
Yes it is very nice, very well made.
Just Google Rubber B for their web site.....lots of info there, many different styles and colors for all Rolex models.

Congratulations on a great piece. I have driven a few hours (France to Italy) to pick up a watch....but never anything like this. I have to ask....even using miles for the flights.....once you paid the tax, was it financially worth it?
