When does the jealousy fade?

I'm five months into owning my 216570. It is my only Rolex and a watch that I admired and worked towards for a long time. It is on my wrist 24/7 regardless of my activity. There are other Rolexs that I would love to own but I can't bring myself to share my Exp2 with the vault.

While I'm thinking of it; I'm not sure ten years is enough time before I have to let it go for service!
Is this normal?

Once you have a 100 posts you will be sufficiently invested (or rather infected) in this hobby to see yourself owning a few Rolexes.

I was the same way and still am. I still love my watch but I can't wait to add to my collection!

Good for you. Best of luck keeping it that way. I lasted about a year and a half.

Sensible people use only one watch. Your Explorer is fine in every situation you are likely to come across.

The Day Date was my Grail; that was four watches ago. Different watches have different appeal to make them desirable. Each one of my timepieces has it's own charm.

I had my steel and gold Daytona for 16 years before I purchased another. Wore it everyday except when I went on wilderness adventures. Just bought a YM II about a month ago in rose and steel. Love that watch so far.

I had my submariner 24 years before moving on to steel/gold DateJust. Now I'm looking to get a OP 39mm b
Basel 2015. The intervals are getting shorter, so the next one should be in 8 years.

Nine years since my first Rolex. Seven now and counting. Some I flipped, some I gifted, some I've kept. Always looking to the next one. It's a slippery slope.

I thought I would be good with just one forever (Sub-C purchased in 03/2011), but added an Exp II Polar in 12/2014.

Hoping the next will be a WG Sub, love the blue color.

It's a sickness. One to which I've completely surrendered.
