dial material

What are dials made from?

I've found what looks like a small scratch in the black dial paint just above the "A" in master. Its reflective so I assume the base material is metal. The watch is about 1 year out from a Dallas service and just recently I've noticed it....and now see it all the time

And for the record the spot is much less noticeable in person. I found and angle with the most reflection for the picture

Nice topic. Goes to show that the sales person that told me they were made of silver was full of sh@t! But, most sales people are! Thanks for the thread and the responses.

Rehaut is part of the case, so whatever material the case is made of.

You learn something new every day. I never realised that the dial on my watch was made of 18carat gold!

I understand silver made dials are unique to Breitling among the popular sport watch makers. Brass is a pretty common material for watchmaking, so that is what I would have assumed.
