I think it's a great underrated reference. I gave up my Platinum dialed 116622 to help ease the pain of the premium I paid on my DaytonaC.

I enjoyed every moment I wore the YM and hope one day to get it back one day in a different color.

The only downside is that huge PM bezel. I was lucky and never slammed mine into anything, but it's like an accident waiting to happen.

Trust me get it!! One of the most comfortable watches I have with the curved lugs. The blue dial is love!! The versatility it adds to a black dial collection was exactly what I was looking for.

SNAP

I originally took the pic for insurance purposes as it shows both watches and rings.

It's a great watch. I remember several years ago noticing a platty across the aisle in an airplane. I was mesmerized by its beauty.

I'd love to see the blue dial with matching blue bezel insert.

I had a blue dial. The bezel became dirty and it was almost impossible to clean it. I tried and had to buy a new one. After that I sold it away.

I love the rhodium dial, and think the light blue seconds hand is a stroke of design genius. This is in the running for my next major purchase, but right now I'm having "choice paralysis."

I've really come to like the Yachtmaster. It's comfortable to wear, and it is a bit more unusual (one of the dads in my son's class has one.) To be honest, the thing I like
least about it is simply the name, which I'd likely get over if I was in the market for one.

It's really not a sub imo....the blue sunburst dial one is my favorite (hence own) and it's just an amazing piece in different lights. Not to mention the Daytona like case profile that wraps around your wrist...very comfortable. It certainly isn't a tool watch to me with the platinum bezel but to each their own. These watches are for guys that don't want to wear black faced subs/gmts....which is your typical Rolex variant imo.

Great pic, Mr Juantxo. A blue dial YM and a Randall Gambler. Great choice of tools.
On another note, all the hoopla now days seems to be over the ceramic Daytonas. The Daytona models don't do a thing for me, but a blue dial Yachttie could definitely be a candidate for my collection.

Can anyone with the rhodium gray dial speak to its legibility in different lighting conditions? I tried it on at my AD and love the look, but fear the legibility isn't as crisp as on the blue dial. Thoughts?

You are right. When I first saw it I was immediately turned off because the pointers were hard to see from my perspective. More recently I've seen it again and the pointers have been easier to read. However, the blue YM is very, very legible.

Just purchased my 16628 this week and absolutely love it. I've only worn it a handful of times and it's defiantly a crowd pleaser. I wouldn't worry about anyone considering the YM1 feminine at all...

I love it. Never really thought about owning one until I happened to try one on at the AD. The Rhodium dial with light blue accents is amazing to look at. No issues with legibility at all!

As others have said, as long as YOU like it, that is what matters.

I got a Polar EXP2 as my first and only current Rolex. People on TRF seem to like them, but I never see them out in the wild nearly as much as subs or gmt's. Doesn't bother me one bit because it is my favorite of the bunch.

Buy it and enjoy!

Agreed. I actually flipped a SubDate for an Explorer II, and I don't regret it.

The blue dial is gorgeous - but I think the watch looks better on a women's wrist. Perhaps in my opinion / it's the bezel that makes it more feminine looking

Does that make the Daytonas with the metal bezels feminine?
