Deep sea dweller D-Blue ref 116660….

I recently added a lovely Rolex deep sea dweller d-blue ref 116660.

I really love it. Yes, it is really big! And it’s very heavy so I don’t know if I could wear it every day, but I am currently just wearing it at weekends and I’m loving it so far. It’s such a fun watch, and it’s so easy to use.

I’m interested to know what people think about this watch becoming a future classic? And if the new 2017 43mm sea dweller would have been a better purchase? Anyway, I really love the d-blue, It’s such a beast of a watch.
Would love to hear people’s opinion.

hope you enjoy the pics…

Just got mine a week ago. Given the rarity of them right now i think the value will go up.

For now just enjoy the watch.

Congratulations. I've had mine for a couple of months and also really enjoying it, although I'm not finding it that comfortable compared to my other watches.
As for the future value who knows but looking at Grey dealer prices now it looks to be a good bet especially if it were to be discontinued any time soon.

Thanks i love mine. I don't think its too heavy. I bought it while in Hawaii dor my birthday and wore it all week and it wasn't too bad. Wearing my sub now feels light.

It's a great piece, I won't worry about it comparing to the 43m dweller, this is a difft animal. That being said, they are all technological classics and legends, it is a Rolex after all...lol.
Have fun wearing it...

Went from sub to DeepBlue ... adjusted to weight difference in an hour! Don't notice it at all. Love the big bad ass face!

I love mine too. My sub feels small now. I dont even notice wearing them. The deep blue was very comfortable. I like the micro adjustment clasp on them too.

I completely agree. There is nothing like DSSD, and D-blue just makes it even more special. Enjoy, you picked the right watch. I love mine.

As far as comfort, the trick is to take out the divers extension and wear it on the tighter side so the watch doesn't move around on your wrist. After I did those two things, the DSSD became my MOST comfortable watch. I love it!!

Congrats!

Did you remove the divers extension? Made mine "perfect" and very comfy.

Just to clarify the 116660 is not an LE watch...

Love it

Its actually not that heavy.. I thought it was at first but you get used to it and I actually like the weight of it now. when I wear my BLNR or a submariner it seems too small!
When I first got this watch I was a little unsure about it (size/weight wise), but after wearing it is actually amazing.. don't listen to all the reviews of people saying its too big and heavy, its actually a perfect sized sporty watch.
This is actually my favourite watch. at the mo..!

I have the SD43 but I do think the d blue is the better diver but unfortunately I just don't have the wrist to wear it.

Finally I just got mine today. Really an awesome piece of engineering by Rolex. The looks of it is mesmerizing. The feel is great, I meant it doesn't feels heavy or big or sits high like what others have commented. If I can change anything to it, I would want the bracelet to be thicker in width but that's alright, not a big issue. My advice to those still pondering about it, go and get it before its gone. Might not be true in your area but that's what it is in my area.
