small etched or hologram crown not on my 2007 solid gold president

I purchased my Rolex 2007 presidential from a notable dealer in Philadelphia and after talking to another Rolex owner he told me about a small etched crown should be at the 6 o'clock mark. I could not find it so I took to two authorized rolex dealers and the used a loupe but they still couldn't find it and they said it was not there but my watch was still authentic because Rolex did not etch the crown in all models, is this true? I thought after 2001 the did it in all models?

It can be very difficult to locate, try shining an lcd flashlight at an angle from 12 down or 6 up, it's very tough sometimes finding it especially if you have a lighter colored dial.

a dealer in willow grove used a loupe and told me its not there, but then he asked if I wanted to trade the watch toward a brand new presidential. so that kind of let me know it was authentic

The etching is not always at 6 o'clock, especially if it has been serviced and the crystal replaced.
I thought the etching was missing on my Sub, I finally found it at 2 o'clock.

For some reason, someone (if you weren't the original owner) may have had the crystal polished as well. If you purchased form the AD new, then it is certainly authentic, but just may be older stock crystal etc. or service crystal. Every Rolex AD in the Phila. area that I am familiar with has a fairly long history of being an AD.

If the crystal is original, it should be there.

That's only possible if the watch has no cyclops, which the DD has.

Yep, didn't think about that. Mine was a no date Sub.

It's possible that all were not changed over by 2002, and it is known that the green glass Milgauss did not have an etched crystal.

But by 2007 your watch would have originally had a coronet. AD's are not the best place to get valid information, or even somebody capable of showing you the coronet, they are sales staff.

It's a decade old, anybody could have changed the crystal for whatever reason.

Check the serial number. It may have been sitting at the dealer for years before getting sold? Maybe it was the last of those not getting the etching?
