GMT 1675 Thoughts & Advice
I have a jeweler friend has a watchmaker who has this watch in his possession and wanted to get the experts thoughts.
He sent me a video and info so this is what I know. The serial is 1,255,xxx and the dial has been replaced at some point during it's life. The dial looks to be a late Mark 4/5 based on what I've seen. The bracelet is a 9315 from what I saw in the video and has a clasp code 3/77 from what they both can make out (not sure). The insert looks correct for a fat font from what I can tell. Am I correct on the dial and any thoughts would be appreciated? |

1.274xxx and down should be from 1965 and
1.274xxx and up should be from 1966

Basically everything is replaced. Dial, hands, insert and bracelet. (Black inserts came in the early 70's)

I have no illusions this watch was original but see value in the parts. I'm just not sure they will be more than the sum of purchase.

Just curious where this information came from? And by writing, that a watch is from 1965 or 1966, is that based on the serial number tables found all over the internet, or based on case back date stamps? Thanks in advance and I look forward to a response.

And you're right, based on the pic (i don't know about this insert) your gilt era watch is now from the 70s. Also, for my own knowledge, were the 9315s original on GMTs? I thought they were subs only... |
