I had a two year-old sub when I bought my BLNR. I wore it once, just because it felt neglected, and then never wore it again, and I sold it last month. I haven't regretted it once.

Of course, everyone is different, and folks have made a good point about how you've customized the sub and it's truly "yours". The advice to return it to stock and have it serviced is, IMHO, right on, BUT no one has suggested that you try to sell it as is.

That's where I come in.

What have you got to lose except time? Since the bracelet on the sub won't fit the GMT, that's not an issue any more, so it's just the hand and case back, and condition. Some guys don't care about scratches and dents. I'm not one of them... but I know they're out there, because I've seen some real lousy watches listed for sale here, and when priced right, they get sold.

So, figure what it will cost to get the watch put back and serviced. Then look at watches for sale and realistically estimate what you can get for it (as a seller with no feedback history, you won't command a premium, AMHIK) and/or email some dealers and ask them what they'll give you for it (on trade against a BLNR if you want) and go from there. Wow, that was a long sentence. Figure what the watch will cost to get fixed, subtract that from what it will be worth on the market, and see if you can sell it for that. If no one nibbles, then get it fixed.

Another option is to keep it, buy the BLNR, and see what you end up wearing. That's what I did.

Keep your sub, You probably won't get much for the sub if traded in.
I have a Explorer II as my daily watch for 11 years. Thought about trading it in, but was told I would probably only get $3k or less. Decided to keep it. One day, I will pass it down to my daughter or son as a high school graduation present.

Update

Update:

So, I was contacted by a TRF member (I'll let him chime in if he wants) regarding purchasing my Sub-C watch head. We agreed on a price, and today I shipped the watch off to him, for receipt tomorrow. I think he got a great deal, and I hope he wears it, and gives it the love that a Sub-C deserves. I'm glad its going to a forum member who will wear it, as opposed to sitting in my safe.

In the meantime, I had contacted DavidSW, and today I received a beautiful new BLNR.

First thing I did was to remove the blingy bracelet (which took a while- it was really tough to get off), and replaced it with my Sub-C Glidelock bracelet. Much better.

The original bracelet (with stickers still on it) goes into my safe- Maybe one day I'll want the PCL's. In the meantime, I'm loving brushed links and Glidelock.

Here's a before/after pic:

Just keep the Sub. You probably won't get your worth with the noticeable dings on your watch.

Wow, that looks fantastic. Great you were able to sell it to someone on here. Did you sell as is, or?

Put the sub back to original to maximize the sale price.

truthfully, you have trashed that Sub from a resale standpoint. Just keep it and buy the new one when you are able. No sense taking a loss on a watch you actually like and you will regret selling it, now or later.

Personally I don't think there's a better SS watch than the SubC. The blue and black just isn't for me. I'd much rather upgrade to a 116613 bluesy or 116618LB but I realize those are much more expensive. If you want the GMT go for it but I've had 3 SubCs and regretted selling every time.
