I don't know if that makes me old-fashioned (I'm in my mid-40s so not THAT old), old school, conservative, or what. That's just the way I am. Also, what were we talking about again? Gym shorts? Oh yeah. Hey, wear whatever you want...as long as it makes you happy, that's all that matters..... |

I work from home 99% of the time, and personally, I at least wear what I would in a casual office environment (just helps me start the day right). If OP wants to wear gym shorts, he can. If he wants to wear a tank top to match, even better. Maybe he could pull off a full track suit too, who knows. So, ridiculous? Most definitely. Funny? Very much. Quote:
I do agree that at certain times and in certain situations, there is somewhat of a dress code I adhere to. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I need to wear a dress watch in a situation where most would (I'd just wear whatever I preferred), but at least I'd honor the situation by being clean and orderly. Things like that. If anything, I'm finding a lot more people are wearing higher-end watches with anything and everything. In that regard, who are we to judge, if the masses are partaking? |

Man I'm jealous, I feel like I would be more productive if I could dress comfortably like that. Norms be damned, I'm happy that society is shifting towards this trend (at least in the tech industry).

If you ask what red wine goes best with spaghetti-O's, don't be shocked if you get a little food advice along the way.

And to answer OP's question, you need to wear a 5167/5164 with gym shorts and sneakers... If you wear a Rolex people will think you're trying to hard |

Dude wear whatever you want in any situation. Unless you're going to a formal black tie or white tie event or dinner where a watch on leather is really the only way to go with some exceptions, TT is fine. TT Datejusts are more appropriate for work. As much as I like the bluesy it's not a watch I would wear with a suit. The blue dial while gorgeous is just a little too sporty for that environment.
I tend to favor either SS or full PM, but TT is a classic look and you really should only buy what you're going to enjoy wearing otherwise you're not going to be happy with the watch and end up selling it.

I thought that was funny, too. Wear anything you want in any situation....BUT, if you're wearing a tux you must wear a watch with a leather strap.

You can wear a Rolex with anything. I consider them sporty watches, even the DJs. I wear my Rolex with a damn tank top and gym shorts on my Saturday trips to Lowes in the Texas Summer. Wear and enjoy!

I think there are some silly discussions here, I usually don't mind them, but if I do, I don't contribute to the perpetuation of thread. You post, they go right to the top! You want a ridiculous and unnecessary thread to disappear, don't bring it to the top. |

Nobody cares man. Seriously. Appreciate the comically stupid thread though.

Self employed. Into fashion.. mostly on women though. Been wearing primarily gym shorts and sweatpants for the last few years. Just too comfortable and looks cool.
I say do it.. either you own it or you don't.. and if you don't then no one's gonna notice so who cares |

There are definitely some wild discussions here, but I'd guess the craziest ones are the clothing ones. Maybe we should just keep humoring people and keep them going. Seems to be working for 9 pages so far. None of what we say matters anyway, he's just going to keep wearing gym shorts to work, and the world will still go on. All good. I'm in baggy shorts and a t-shirt most of the time and wear a gold Sub. I dress how I want and wear the watch I like.
