Double Red Found in NYC!!!

Found a stunning double red Seadweller/Submariner in perfect non-polished condition!! The dial was so very beautiful!!

I'd take this watch anyday over current SD43 even though the SD43 is technically superior in every way. But is it worth 3x the price?

Looks great! Not sure that's how I would spend my watch fund, but, to each his/her own.

Hard to judge.....

Can't compare a vintage directly with a current production model.....

Nice - but "non-polished"; how do you know - as it looks a tad round here and there.

I've seen unpolished Rolex divers and Sea Dwellers.....that picture isn't the greatest but I would not be convinced it's unpolished. The insert along with that pearl looks like service parts also. (OK on 2nd look maybe the insert is correct...need better pic to be sure). Need closer shot of the dial to make real assessments about authenticity and how good it is (lume condition, dial condition, authenticity, if there are chips etc around edge).

Now if everything is correct and truly unpolished on that watch in good condition? You bet your @$$ it's worth 3x the current SD43 heh.

All perspective I guess...personally red subs/sd vintage have never done anything for me...in fact I don't love gilts but think that's something worth the premium over red line of text. But it's funny because when I was hunting for a 4 digit Daytona I knew it had to be a big red heh. Check the market if you're interested but I've seen like nos double reds and the case looks totally different. I welcome all you modern guys to step into this side of that playing ground.

Double red is a dream piece, I think it's worth it.

Since Lee has the set (past and present), let's see what he has to say ....

Is the double red worth 3 x the SD43?
