Up.
As watch lovers, It's difficult to understand the 'Why would you spend so much' mentality of non WIS.
Nobody says to the guy that drives a 911 'Why spend so much just to get stuck in the same traffic jam as the next guy in a 10 yr old Toyota'...
Owning and appreciating nice/luxury watches especially Rolex, has very little to do with wanting to know what the time is.
Sorry OP to go off on a bit of a tangent, but I'm fed up of non WIS putting me on a guilt trip over price!

None of my co-workers have noticed my Rolex, but I have a friend who is a copier salesman and he owns a TT sub. He said he has to be careful which clients he wears it around, because some of them think he is ripping them off to be able to afford a Rolex!

SWISS MAD, DONT GET MAD.

•There is a common saying that a normal watch tells you the time, while a Rolex tells the world your time (meaning your achievements and sense of taste and style.)
Reason why we like Rolex so much!

Have to agree with Larry. Very rarely have I ever gotten a comment about any watch I have on. And the ones I can think of in recent years haven't been more that, "I like your watch".

I'm sure they had no clue what it was. And have had more glances at APs than Rolex.

Most people just think they're Michael Kors or some thing of the like. A-ok by me. I simply say thanks!! And move on.

But the majority of the time it rests under my shirt cuff.

Do Clients Notice My Watch?

When I worked in the jewelry and watch business customers (clients) noticed the watch I was wearing frequently, especially if I was wearing an older Rolex sports model. Now that I'm out of the jewelry business it's a rare occurrence.

Very few people notice and even less "comment" You never really know because many who "notice" your watch will be polite and not say anything.

I haven't gotten any compliments on my Rolex, but I did get a fair amount when wearing my Cartier Ballon Bleu. Usually from jewelers (when browsing their stores) or other Cartier lovers.

my only clients that notice my watches "get it"!. Any other client I have never even looked once at my watch, and the topic has not ever come up.

When I bought my first AP "elephant", I wore it to a meeting with my "watch Clients" and they all congratulate me and asked to try it on (3 of them), it was a lot of fun actually. One of them wore a Hublot, the other 2 both had APs on.

I’ve had a couple people comment that I have a really nice watch. My boss also noticed it but other than that I haven’t found it to be much of a conversation starter. As far as I know, very few people have even noticed it.

I’m not in a business where I’m dealing with customers or clients though.

I have yet to come across a client that has noticed my watches. I notice everyone's. I notice watches waiting in traffic.

I’ve worn a Rolex for 14 years. I’ve never had a client comment, until last week. I was in a meeting with a number of them from the same organization. The person to my immediate right texted me two thirds of the way through the meeting “nice watch!”

I actually found it to be really awkward.

Very rarely any comments. Like others have stated, never really know who notices, though.

Did your client notice your watch?

I was a government contractor. If it’s not the newest Apple smart watch no one notices. They are all concerned with tech and saving the planet (not that there is anything wrong with that.) I used to get poked at for having a big truck, RV, gas guzzling boat, and a corvette all the time. Even though I got close to 30 mpg in the vette. In the corporate world people notice luxury items but in other fields I could wear a $1m Patek and no one would notice.

Generally only a WIS will notice your watch. I don’t mind it. I enjoy the conversation generally.

I've yet to have a client mention my watch, which is probably a good thing, seeing how the majority of my clients would kill me for it (criminal defense attorney full time and part time Judge)

Same here. I've been a "watch watcher" for as long as I can remember. First Rolex I remember seeing was when I was thirteen and it was on a server at a restaurant. I asked him about it and he said he recently graduated college and it was a gift to himself for the accomplishment.

Being in industrial sales, I NEVER wear a Rolex when with a client. Even though there are for more expensive brands, and none of my watches are even in the top tier, Rolex carries a stigma among non-watch individuals.

No clients have ever noticed my watch. The only time someone actually noticed my watch was at the dog park.

I’m a lawyer but have never had a client mention a watch I’m wearing. I have had several clients ask me for the fairly expensive pens that I use when they sign closing papers in a settlement, as if I should give them away as part of the deal! I always laugh as if they are joking.

it is funny how people don't comment about the Rolex but when they see the Panerai or the Ap they just have to comment.
