First World Problem

Birthday coming up, planned on getting the 15400 RG on Leather. But my Seller has a SD43 in-shop.

Now I'm stomped.

I would go as planned. The SD43 should be easily available with a discount, in the near future.

Another vote for the AP. The hype on the SD appears to be dying and they'll be easy to come by in the not too distant.

The SD; AP just doesn’t do anything for me. SD also seems to suit you better.

Another vote for AP if price difference is not an issue.

Thanks guys. I'll stick to my plan. There is a large $ difference (obviously). Both NIB.

-SD43 =$12.5K (Room for negotiation)
-15400 =$21.5K (I think this is final, me & the seller have been at it for days on this watch. But I think I'll bust his balls another day)

I’d go for the SD43 just because AP do absolutely nothing for me. Apologies to AP owners but to me they are fugly looking watches.

I've owned AP's (current ROO owner). I wear my Rolex much more often. They are more rugged, can take anything that you throw at it and have a reasonably low key look, in other words much more versatile.

What are you basing the SD43-hypescenario on? In Europe there are long waitninglists for it...

I would go for the SD. For one I don't care much for AP. Don't care for RG or leather straps. And the depreciation on the AP would be more than I would care to take.

I would get the SD43. That's right, I did and love it. I think from the photograph provided the SD43 looks better on your wrist and at a 10K or more difference there is no comparison in my book. Get in touch with a few Trusted Sellers and see what they would give you on a trade on both watches. I keep reading about the SD43 going to retail with a discount but that is a long time in the future. My AD has received two since release and has a list of more that twenty who say they want the watch. If only half are real buyers it will take awhile to take care of them. The Trusted Sellers will not start lowering prices significantly until there is a inventory at the AD's. Just my thoughts.

If you already have a Sub, SD, or even GMT....then the AP.

If you don’t have one of those watches already, which I find unlikely, then I’d have to go SD43 (even though I prefer Subs).
