If the Air King Had a Date ...

Would it be more popular and would you consider buying one?

The new Air King is perfect as it is.

I'm not in the market for one at this time, as I feel that my my current inventory of Rolex Watches is sufficient--for the time being.

I choose none of the above.
It would not be more popular, I like it the way it is and would buy one as it is now.

Not sure if it would help the popularity....but I like it, and I did buy one.

Don’t think adding a date would really make that much of a difference. Either to me or the buying population at large.

well, there was a date offered in the 70-80's i believe in Commonwealth countries... not sure if it sold any more or not.

this AK is too busy already. i don't think a date is a USP for this model.

i just hope rolex keeps the AK as its a great historical model.

Generally speaking, models with dates are more popular with the general watch-buying public.

It indeed did have one years ago. In fact, I’ve been looking for one to add for a while. I’ll be honest, I think they’re pretty cool.

Yes it looks good indeed, but that’s a real Air King... the OP probably talks about the new version, which would definitely not benefit from a date function...

I like the looks of the AK but do not want to own one. The date does not matter.

Yes, that is a real, original AirKing, but with a date window. If the OP has the modern version in mind, at 39mm, it's not really anything like a DateJust, is it? By the way, what is the history of the original AirKing model?

Here's some info from Joe: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=260602

The Air King Date shared a reference number (5700 and 5701) with the Explorer Date. Both very cool watches.

Actually, besides everything else, I believe that a date aperture would create problems for the Faraday cage, as with the Milgauss.
