The biggest improvement is the new clasp with easy link IMO.

That is all I was waiting for.

and £2000 for the new clasp, when they can be found for £800 and knocked on the current 16622...

So when these 2012 YM get released to the ADs later this year, what are we going to see as far as MSRP for each of them (2011 vs 2012)?

I assume the new model is going to sell at a premium and the price of the old one will go down (or at least the % discount will go way up) otherwise if the prices were anywhere near each other, nobody would buy the old one.

I think it would have been a greater improvement if they used the glidelock clasp instead of the easylink.

Ive read on here in other posts about a different case? It looks the same to me though...

Also, I think the new lume is the same as the Sub-C & Exp II and is supposed to be brighter and glow blue.

that's the only difference I can see now as well.

to me the changes to the watch do not deserve a new model number like that given to GMTc, SubC or Expy II's.

Anders, you're forgetting the "entirely re-thought" bezel as the Rolex website says. That alone is worth £2K

I like the blue dial a lot. I always liked the TT YM w/ blue dial, but gold isn't for me. I do not feel the need to flip my current Pt. SS YM, but I may be in the market for an updated clasp...

2011 vs 2012

Hi guys

I have the 2011 YM and am trying to find the differences between it and the 2012. It says "new bezel" on the website, but what does that mean? Mine looks identical, platinum bezel, raised numbers, and sandblasted finish. Am I missing something, or is "new," within the past year and a half? I don't have the easy link bracelet, so that's the only difference I can tell... so far. Thanks for any help.

The bezel is made in Platinum and is rethought with 120 clicks and a trigonal spring that providing a constant
torque in both directions. The markers have now Chromalight blue glow. Now it have the Parachrome spring too.
The bracelet have the new Oysterlock safety clasp with the easylink and the SEL is shorter than the erlier model.
Now the info page says the hands and the index surroundings are made in white gold, there have been discussions
about if they where made in Platinum. The dial says only Blue, sunray finish so I guess that is not made in Platinum.

If you look closely it seems to me the font of the bessel is "thiner" than the old one and the numbers have more ronded edges
