In my view the Black Bay & Explorer are the most expendable. Seeling those would free up 7K+ toward something special. What to get is a tougher question.

does it have to be all-in if you switch things up?
i know you've had a love/hate thing with the daytona....why not flip the daytona and 16610 towards an AP RO (blue 15300 would be sublime)? that way, you only lose two pieces for one special SS.... if you want to "go big" with a PM rolex or PP or something, i would flip the daytona, 16610, BB and explorer....you would still have the LVc and two amazing PAMs (and the straps that go with them).....or keep the explorer, since it goes great on rubbrer, and flip the three? |

Cru knows me pretty well.
My thoughts have been around a blue dial. 116619, 5711, 5712. I love the LVc (I used to think it was, uh....let's just say I didn't like it), and I've tried on the LBc on several occasions lately. I do love it, but I love the LVc too. That is making me lean towards a 5711/5712, but I like WG. IF (and it still is if) I do this, I'll likely drop 16610, 116520, 241270, 111G. I've also thought about keeping the 111G and trading down my 232 to a 210 b/c I really miss this watch (even with the aftermarket hands).

mik, if, to keep the 111G, you need to trade the 232 down to the 210 (& pick up the gold hands), it's probably worth it, but, you may miss that dial color and the special feeling of owning one of the best modern PAMs....
i've said before, for me, there are just way too many awesome watches to have both the LVc and WG Sub....so, if i would want something special & blue, and since the LVc does so much for me, i would keep the LVc and then add something like the 5711. yes, not gold, but, sometimes steel can be just as good. as for 5711 v 5712, both are amazing references...being a fan of PAM, i know you like simple, so, maybe the 5711 is the way to go. but, if it's one patek and done, maybe some complications? if 5712, you'll need to flip more and add cash, though. not sure if that's worth it to you.... for me, the purity and style of the 5711 do it. if you were to go for the 5711, i personally would rather trade 16610, 116520, 241270, BB and a little cash instead of 16610, 116520, 241270, 111G. |

.........or, if you really want blue and don't want to let go of too much, consolidate much less and go for this one: http://www.grand-seiko.com/collectio...e/SBGA127.html
limited edition + all the joys of GS finishing + spring drive + PR function (new for you) + really under the radar... |

Can't do a spring drive. The idea of pure mechanical is what I need in a watch. I know it is highly mechanical, but it still has an electromagnetic pacemaker.

Dammit Cru!!!! I went to the bank today to swap out the LVc with another. Put the 232 on....that brown dial sucked me in again.
Maybe I'll just sell the 16610, 116520 and 214270 then just come up with the extra coin for another watch.
