Need help finding out more info on this watch
Grandfathers watch. Numbers by 6 o'clock are 481247. Which means it's either from 1946 or 1959. No numbers by the 12 o'clock end. Back side upper right lug stamped C and what looks to be hand scribed 7140 and maybe another number. No box or papers. Green cloth strap. Must be a replacement. I've looked at a lot of pictures online and haven't seen another one like it. Sure is hard to post a picture of here!

Looks like a ref 6015 bubbleback. And I would say it is from 1946, not '59.
I have never seen that dial, so, I would question if it has been redone in the past. |

Do you know where your Grandfather was in the late 40's?
I have bought several bubblebacks that came home with GI's during WWII or the German occupation after he war. |

1946, model 3372. very nice. Dial looks correct, but need to see a better picture of the dial to know if it's original or refinished. Band is irrelevant.
p.s. 6015 was a later model - too late for 1946 production. here's mine with a 458xxx serial |
