Submariner 168000 - Authentic?

I'm new to the forum and new to Rolex. I'm seeking your expertise on the authenticity of this Submariner 168000 transition. It is owned by father. After his stroke 3 years ago, he is unable to tell me whether it is authentic.

After reading the reference guides and various posts, I'm about 90% certain that it is authentic. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
- Reference 168000 and serial 972XXXX (1987) line up with period when 168000 were made.
- "ORIG ROLEX DESIGN" is correct for 1987.
- Reference, serial, "STAINLESS STEEL," and "ORIG ROLEX DESIGN" etchings look nice and deep. Etchings are evenly aligned.
- 3035 movement is correct.
- Inside case back is properly engraved with 16800.
- Triplock crown is proper.
- Watch is very quiet when running.
- Drilled lug holes.

Cons:
- Date wheel shows closed 6, 9, and so on. Date wheel may have been changed.
- Watch looks "new" for a 31 year old watch.
- Oyster bracelet is fake. Bracelet has jubilee bracelet model number.
- No box or papers.

Let me know your thoughts! Thanks in advance.

The watch appears genuine. The clasp, as mentioned, is not genuine.

If the $5 service date wheel bothers you, have it replaced.

As mentioned datewheel should be an open 6 and 9 and slighty off white, 16800 was the last to have a silver brushed finish... Clasp is fake, check the bracelet should have a 93150 with a with a round top 3 in the number and the end links should be 593 and not a flat 3 but a round top 3...
