Help buying first vintage watch

Hello, I am looking to purchase my first vintage Rolex. I am looking at a Datejust 16030 Engine Turned Bezel.

The dial has a patina, which I like, but was wondering how this might effect it's value, should I chose to sell down the road.

Also...I have never seen a 1630 with a roulette wheel just on the outer dial and was wondering is that was possible. The what is listed from 1987.

Thanks

I dont think that patina will effect the value because it is an even patina. It looks like a nice piece.

I like the patina but it’s probably a 50/50 proposition who else will like it.

You should buy only if you love it and don't plan on selling it. The patina, if that's what it is, could definitely hamper your ability to sell the watch down the road. It looks heavier on the bottom part of the dial than the top.

You also have to wonder how that discoloration got there. Natural? Water perhaps? A previous owner trying to artificially age the dial? I'd scour the Internet to see if I could find similar dials from around that time period that also had this type of discoloration. That might answer some questions. Either way, good luck!
