Baby's Got the Blues

This afternoon I got on the Dubai Metro for a trip across town, and managed to find an open seat across from two ladies in traditional dress for the area. I sat in the aisle seat and there was a beautiful little girl standing in the window seat. Standing in the seat she wasn't even as tall as my sitting height. The tiny cutie looked at me with a little awe, and when I smiled at her she smilled back. I gave her a little wave, and the ladies giggled a little at her reaction. She and I made faces at each other most of the trip, with the ladies laughing the whole time.

As the train left the next stop I instinctively put my arm in from of the baby in case she started to fall. Each time I did that she put her hand out to my arm like she wanted my watch. Sure enough, leaving the third stop she stumbled a bit and leaned against my arm. The two ladies were alert also, the baby wasn't going anywhere with or without me.

But this time as she was righted she had a hold of my Bluesy and I made out the Arabic word for 'shiney' in the conversation from one of the ladies. So I popped the watch off and put on the girl's arm for her and the ladies to see. All four of us got a laugh out of that, and the girl put fingerprints all over my Bluesy as she giggled happily. You should have seen a Submariner on a wrist as big around as a man's thumb!

If only I could have gotten a pic. I did get permission to take this pic after I had my watch back on my own wrist. I've got a new buddy!
