i would return the watch. If you sell or trade, the "bad" money will follow you.

If it was me, I would definitely want to switch the watch and probably want to switch the model too. I think I would go for a BLNR in your shoes. Just and robust, comfy and versatile - but not a sub.

Divorce Observation
If you decide to keep the current watch, I strongly suggest not telling the new wife the history of the watch. I find new wives don't want reminders of the old wife around. I am not suggesting lying about it, just not broaching the subject. If the new wife asks, that would be a good time to tell her you want to get rid of this last vestige of the old and ask her to pick out a new watch for you.

Trade or sell towards the purchase of a 14060 (how can you not own such a classic?) and apply the extra cash to a new purchase!

BLNR all the way... Similar size, similar build etc..it basically has all the same characteristics as the ones you love in the sub.... But it's not a sub (for you got a replacement sub it would still remind you of this one?).
Like the suggestions of the D Blue, but I have both BLNR and d blue.. Love the d blue , probably prefer it, but it's not an everyday wearer and nowhere near as versatile (too thick for that). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If each time you look at the watch it brings you bad memories or feelings than I would trade in the watch.

I'd go with an all black GMT. Very similar but different. Out with the old and in with the new.

Are/were there no good memories pre ex? Obviously if the emotions are so negative with regard to the split, then moving the watch out and moving on is understandable. But if there are positives (like children, good memories) could not the watch remind of that each time you look at it? Dunno, just what popped into my mind since I'm divorced/remarried. As to what to get if/when, I like the upgrade to new model suggestions . . .

Since it's from an "ex", I'd replace it!

Explorer 2 Polar. Wears more comfortable than a Sub (in my opinion) and is just as sturdy.

Oh there is an easy cure for that. Shake a three legged bantam chicken over it twice while holding both behind your back. Always a well known cure for "cursed money". Or just send it to me. I happen to have a magically enhanced piece of parrot poop that protects me from evil voodoo money also. Actually, yeah, go with that option, I can then send "good vibes" your way at that very moment and everyone will be safe and protected from the "Mr. bad money"

I would go to an AD and try on a new Sub C date 116610LN, Sub C no date 114060, and a Sea Dweller 4000 116600, you would be starting over with a watch not connected to your ex and kind of like "out with the old, in with the new" closure...

Get a BNIB ceramic Sub....(preferably an LV). Must move on...out with the old.

Dump it for the cash.
Then find a watch that commemorates the closure.

Trade it towards any other Rolex. Maybe a BLNR. Still sporty but won't remind you of the past

SubC or a Yachtmaster is a good option. I know this is a "Rolex" forum but I am also very partial to my AP 15400
