What do folks think of the new Hamilton Intra-Matic Chrono?

The 40mm size is nearer to Vintage proportion that the 42mm LE predecessor...

It’s a tad thick, but I love the light cream dial, panda subbies...and the overall look.

I’d put it on a perforated racing strap...

I agree with the strap. That would look great.

It looks awesome! I would buy one and I love the strap idea you suggested. Perforated straps look amazing on Chronographs with panda dials.

At $2,195...full retail, that’s a great price for an automatic Chrono.

I wonder what the build quality is like?

Nice looking watch but paying over $2K for a Hamilton seems steep

Not my favorite and I like Hamilton as a brand. The pusher are out of proportion with the case.

I would think it could...but what retailer would drop prices substantially on this? I recall buying a Hamilton at Macy’s a decade ago. Not much bargaining with the 16 year old behind the counter.

No TS is going to carry this...

I like the looks of the watch a lot, although I do agree that the pushers look a bit large. I think you'll be able to pick this up for under $1,500 on the gray market next year, which would make it a great buy.

Know any of our guys who would carry a $2100 watch / discount by $600? not an exciting opportunity for them.

I think the MSRP is reasonable.

If you like it, I say, go for it.

Thanks Grady.

I’m debating it. I would like to see it in the metal...

I see Turdneau and Macy’s carry the brand.

I like it. My AD still had the LE in stock or long ago and I like this version almost better. The LE seems to have held its own as far as holding on the price is concerned. I fear the regular production model will depreciate more than most Hamilton pieces due to an msrp that is getting out of their normal range.

The build quality is spectacular on the LE piece and I am sure is good in this one as well.

Will DavidSW or Than or one of the big sellers here have one, doubtful. But any AD should discount this piece and they are already in C24 and JomaShop and EBay from some pretty big sellers.

I agree about the size of the pushers, but I’d get one of these anyway

Great looking watch but the date doesn’t work at all for me.

Agree on the pusher comments as well. Unfortunately They seem a bit out of proportion

Thanks for the affirmation on the build quality. I have a Hamilton Ventura (quartz) I purchased maybe 15 years ago. It’s ok...

Apart from Turdneau or Macy’s, do you know of any ADs who would carry this?

I just can’t see any AD wheeling and dealing on this...but I would be happy to be wrong. After about 9% sales tax where I liveI have, no idea what this would truly go for.

Used...I agree, this ain’t no Rolex and prices would be much lower proportionally.

Yes. The date is superfluous...but it was present on the original - albeit reversed in color compared to this one.

I’m fine with the pushers.

I don’t know where you live. But here is this.
http://store.hamiltonwatch.com

I don’t foresee paying msrp for any Hamilton that isn’t some sort of LE.

Here is a screenshot from C24 this morning. $400 off or there about.

Thanks much for the link / C24 info.

Near me, Macy’s is the primary “AD” there is one small shop I noticed which I know to carry brands like LUMIX etc. I may be able to try one on at least.

$400 off is nothing to sneeze at. I must admit I’ve never purchased off of Chrono 24...but I may look into it. What has been your experience?

Agreed the pushers and crown are too large

You must have hated the 42mm LE black dial / white subs. Now that was a mal-proportioned Watch in my opinion.

I would have liked something closer to the original in size...but I definitely prefer the pushers on the 3 o’clock side Vs 9.

I have never bought from C24 vendor before. But as always, buy the seller and use a credit card that will back you if there is a problem.

I believe the pushers were more proportional on the LE but I do prefer the size closer to 40 than 42. But now that someone mentions it the pushers do look large on the 39. Not sure why these vintage re-issue type pieces feel the need to put monstrous pushers on their watches. All of my vintage Chronos have always had relatively proportional to small pushers.

The 42 for comparison. Picture of off of C24 seller.

Thanks again.

I see the sellers on Chrono 24 of new Hamiltons - at the discounted prices - are from Spain and Italy. All I would have to go on are the ratings...much like eBay I suppose.

I guess I’d have to get comfortable with this...vs say a stateside Trusted seller.

Definitely something to think about!

I think they look fantastic. From what I read, the caseback is a little tall and may "push" the mid-case / lug off your wrist depends on wrist shape and size.
