Rolex 1601 with red date?

Are you saying all the dates are red? Then I’d say no...

Now if it is a roulette wheel, and if it is genuine, it would have to be an early one about the same vintage as that DJ. In the early DJ’s the red dates were even numbered days and odd were black. Later Rolex swapped that around to be red: odd and black: even.

Even so there is no way for us to say for sure - except I’m certain it has the wrong crystal on it and the dial looks refinished with lume dots being irregular.

Thanks, I have a chance to buy this watch but I was unfamiliar with the red date. I will look at it tomorrow in person and now I have a better idea of what I'm looking at.

Do you think it may be a 6605 instead of a 1601?

6605 - maybe even 6305, poorly refinished dial with correct applied "ROLEX". I'm fine with the red/black date disk, especially if it's a 6305.
