I think the fit and size works really well on you. It does not look abnormal or out of place. The watch is stunning on you, but if you are iffy about the spring bars etc, I think you should stick to your original plan and go for the 372. Its the one panerai that I had that received the most compliments. I sold it a while back but am thinking of adding the new one. FWIW, my wrist size is the same as yous and the 372 looked perfect.

I love the 372 but was a little put off when Mrs Van D said that from 10 yards away, it's going to look the same as my 359. When I the two side by side yesterday, it looked like she had a point. She also said "Ooh look, another luminor case, woo-hoo! If you want another PAM, go for something a bit different." Not so easy to argue with that one either. The 690 is a real stunner, just as my 689 is. I love that blue dial and it has to be seen to behold. With the 690, I get a Radiomir case with that amazing blue dial. I lose the ability to switch up the straps so easily but I can live with that because I can still have fun with my 359 and 689. The spring bar thing is a minor concern but Mrs Van D asked how many people I know of that have lost their Radiomir because a spring bar has popped. Er...... I'm still on the fence but I don't think it's going to take much to tip me over to the 690. I'm not one to make knee-jerk purchases so I'm going to go for another look next weekend and then go from there. As for the new 372, they apparently won't hit the boutiques until about March next year. If my guy is properly informed, they certainly won't be out on an S serial (2016)

first of all, you're a lucky man to have a Mrs like that. second, another 1940 Rad to consider is the 662...it is definitely different from the 359, has the 1940 Rad shape you like and the dial isn't blue, so even less overlap. just an idea... or, don't over-think it, go with your gut and unveil the 690 as #3. |

I just had a look at the 662; nah, brown isn't my colour. Mrs Van D just turned her nose up at it too, so looks like the 690 is still the one Quote:

Those huge glass windows do need a lot of cleaning though... every time I'm there I stand with my nose pressed against the glass just drooling.... (it's safer for my wallet if I stay on the outside)...

It's a carved, wooden bracelet and the carvings are of Buddha. I bought it in Cambodia for $1 and wear it as a reminder-to-self to chill
As for the watch, I'm still on the fence and I have a nagging feeling in my mind that I should wait for the sapphire 372. That is the piece I was originally jonesing for. Aside from that I prefer the Luminor cases and I already have a blue dial, sooooooooooooooo.................. In short, I'm not sure. I can't go look again this weekend because I'm off to Taiwan on a job in the morning

Been away for ages again but looks like you've been quite busy! You're staking up some nice Pam's there Ruud.
I recently looked at some pics of the 690 and I fell in love, it is an absolute beauty and blue for me on a watch is just stunning. But I have been looking at the 422 as my next option to go with the 312. Looking forward to see what you get :) |
