Will this thing pick up more scratches than my Submariner Two Tone Bluesy? I feel sad. Any Advice? I do buy watches to wear them. Not to keep them as safe queens.

I wouldn't worry bout it. They're going to happen. You could either go cape cod or wait for service.

I would leave it alone because it is on a polished surface and on the bezel... No matter how hard you try to not scratch the bezel, it will get scratched. Take it from a person with OCD when it comes to watches and scratches.

Maybe it is just me. I would sell it off at 25% less or something and get another model (233 for my case) which is next on my queuing list.

Just be more careful of your surrounding. My 351 has been with me for 3 weeks. Been to BKK, shopping in crowded places, swam with it. Walking around a new data centre with lotsa workers doing cabling and rack mounting works.

Not a single scratch so far *touch wood*. I am always very careful with my watches and has been perfecting my watch defensive skill.

Panerais are BIG watches. You're going to collect quite a few scratches. Learn to live with it.

Scratches can be polished out by a grown-up come service time.

One of our resident PAM experts (Cru) commented recently that Panerai are not jewellery watches. They look better with a couple of scratches. I cried for three days when I scratched my 359 but I'm ok now and have learned to live with it. No, really...........

Looks good, now you can tell its your piece. Give it at least a few years before polishing it. I wear a white gold Daydate on a semi daily basis that's from 2012, it got swirls and scratches all over. It actually looks better now then new due to them.

Hi, So far neither. I definitely wouldn't attempt to use a cape cod on my AP. Plus I recently got the AP and I'm very careful when wearing it, but if something were to happen, I'll just let APSC handle it when the time comes.

Compared to a lot of watches, Rolex included, I think Panerai looks better with scratches and nicks and marks. With some time, the rawness of that mark will fade plus others will join, creating a nice lived-in haze.

Look I get it, it hurts and only you know when you'll get over it. The first is the worst. I just prefer clean watches too. It's true with OP, they are large so more prone.

I understand the sensitivity about scratches. I just *had* to have the gouges caused by a screwdriver on a used 111 I used to own buffed out.

On my recently acquired 312, I got a hard to reach scratch between my bezel and crystal on day 1!! Had to let it go. You only see it in a certain light / angle.

Whatever you do ... don't do what a friend who I referred to a trusted seller here did.

He actually CALLED THE DEALER after he got his first scratch to ask what to do. This, after I told him cape cod *might* help if the bezel scratch was shallow.

I had similar experience. Use cape cod. You will still see it but not as visible anymore.

Like many have said...a Panerai is a great watch to show wear and tear. I wouldn't purposely scratch my watch, but as the scratches and dings come, if there's one brand that can make them look good....Panerai

You guys definitely know how to make me feel better about the scratch. I wanted to crawl under the bed and cry after seeing that. Although no one else seems to notice it including my girlfriend until I pointed it out to her.
