"30J" stamp in green tag
Hello buddies
Why the serialized green tag, most of them were from watches sold and originated in US, of the vintage Rolex always have a stamp "30J"?...Does it mean anything at all? Thanks! S |

It stands for 30 jewels and that is how the tags were marked back in the 80's.
Not sure why as they were advertised with 31 Jewels in the US, but jewel count and functional vs. non functional jewels has always been an interesting topic.. The 3035 had 27 jewels and the 3135 released in the late 80's upped it to 31. It is these 3135's that had the 30J tag.
