Apple watch?

Just curious, anyone else have an apple watch? How much wrist time does it get?

I have the series 3 (ATT), and usually wear it about 2 or 3 days a week, in a rotation with my other watches.....

I use Apple Watch for gym, golf and skiing, series 3 makes it super easy to leave the phone behind.

I use a Garmin Fenix 5. Apple’s watch has too little battery life.

I purchased a series 2 last July and wore it every day for three months. On a positive note, I lost 15 pounds, and closed the rings every day for the entire month of August. I’ve only worn it a handful of times since October of last year because I’ve memorized my exercise metrics and missed my Swiss Watch collection. I tried double writing it for a couple of days but it just looks stupid. If Apple made a small wrist band that sent the health info to my phone I’d wear that but right now I’m not a fan.

+1 I use mine to track my runs and any time I get on a plane. I hate having to take off my rolex and have it get scratched due to a rushed tsa line lol I have a nice leather strap to "dress it up" a bit if i'm not working out.

I wear it when I swim so I can track the # of laps. I then wear it for the rest of the day at work as I'm too lazy to bring another watch to wear after my swim.

Other than that it stays in my watch box... Series 2 watch; would not get S3 because of the red dot.

3-4 days a week. Less if I’m on vacation.

Bought a series 3 and had a hard time taking off a beautiful, mechanical watch, to wear a small iPhone on my wrist. My daughter has worn it ever since and she seems to love it.

I have every AW gen. and I wear it when I exercise and when I travel. Sometimes I wear it for work too, depends.

I still love my mechanical watches but can't deny AW has its uses.

Mine never got much wrist-time, so it's on (probably permanent) loan to my niece in Cleveland :-)

I prefer my heart rate monitor chest/strap for exercising instead, which is very accurate.

I have an AW 2. I mainly use it as a fitness tracker and a beater watch.

when the series 0. came out, I wore it for about 6 weeks straight. but I couldn't stand letting my other watches sit. the functionality was great, but it was not the time piece for me at the end of the day so I sold it.

I really only wear my AW for the following scenarios:

1) Around the house when my phone is in one room charging
2) Any outdoor activity where I don't want to risk scratching a nice watch such as hiking or climbing
3) While at the movies so I can see if I get an important message and need to step out without having to open and check my phone

It doesn't get a ton of use but I do find it super convenient for these situations

Garmin beats every Apple watch for running, that and I don't have an iPhone.

Not bashing on the iWatch though, they're cool little things, look pretty good, just not for me

Been wearing one daily since its release. Now on AW S3. It is not for everyone.

I think using the word “watch” by Apple was the best noun available to them. But it is so much more.

With the SimRing feature, and phone call handoff, plus AirPods - you are liberated from handling the iPhone constantly during the business day. Read and dictate text replies. Get appointment reminders. Answer or defer incoming calls. Make outgoing calls on the AW or the phone. Monitor your physical activity. Check email. Health and medical monitoring. BT Link to iPhone camera for RMON. Oh, and safe in the shower

In Georgia a new law starts July 1st where you can be fined for even touching a mobile phone while driving. I’m sure that’s already true in many States in US as well as Countries around the globe. But looking at your AW isn’t an offense.

Sure, it looks odd with a Rolex on one wrist and AW on the other. But it has helped me at the track where you seldom hear a mobile and you’re already wearing a headset with different freq’s. in your ears.

These wrist wearables will be dinosaurs eventually - just wait until the AppleRing comes out. You’ll become accustomed to wearing Google glasses to read the micro screen

I've been thinking about getting one for working out, but I still use my Polar with chest strap. I've tried a few different fitness watches and found that the HR monitor is not as accurate as using a chest strap which is the primary reason I'm holding off for now. Well, that and the recharge thing. My Polar uses a standard CR lithium battery that can last years.

Been thinking about buying one for a while, and will really consider it if my fitbit dies (which might be soon, based on its current condition).

2 reservations:
1. Battery life. I do find i like the sleep tracking of the fitbit which I think i'll lose with the apple watch. I charge my fitbit, usually when I'm driving, and gets enough charge if a plug it in during my commute twice a week, which is pretty good. Not sure I can do the same the the AW.
2. I wear my fitbit on my right wrist, and at least according to my wife, looks fine. I'm not sure I can say the same about an apple watch, meaning it's going to take wrist time away from a lot of my watches. Maybe it'll be the perfect "beater" and I can sell a lot of my cheap watches... but I'm not sure I want to do that.

Based on these, I might just buy another fitbit when the time comes... but I do feel like I want to try and AW too.

I’m in the same boat as a lot of you. I really want to get one, as my wife loves hers. But do I really want to take off one of my nice mechanical watches to put this on? Ideally I would like to wear it on the opposite hand, but as others have stated, I think it’s gonna look weird. I’m primarily interested in the fitness tracking, but if you don’t have it on, what’s the use in tracking? Just for the gym? Or the weekend walks? Not sure I buy the logic of that.
I’ve also thought about getting a fit bit just so that I can continue wearing my Rolex and other mechanicals.
Thoughts?

For running I have a Nike Series 3 with GPS and cellular. Tracking my runs is the best feature, it's requires almost daily charging but is a great mini-phone for runs which I don't want to take my phone.

I own a series 2. Only wear it during exercise and sleeping (sleep monitoring and silent wake up alarm). Have a Motiv ring on order since I miss tracking daily activity when wearing my preferred watches (and didn't want to wear a watch on both wrists).
