Sea Dweller 2017 or GMT Master II ??
Hi Rolex Forum people,
I'm on the market for my first Rolex. I cant decided between the Sea Dweller 2017 126600 or GMT Master II 116710BLNR. Got my name on the list, or do I just get the one that comes first. What do you guys think? Sea Dweller 2017 126600 or GMT Master II 116710BLNR. Thanks |

Room,
We may need a bit more background info. Such as, current collection, lifestyle, etc. But to shoot in the Dark, I say the new Sea Dweller 2017 126600. Very manly & goes with a lot of outfit.

Without any back ground on what you own or your wrist size or preference I would go with the SD43. Totally new design, bracelet and gotta love the red on the dial. If you can get it from an AD and it does not work the flip will be easy.

Welcome to TRF.
Both great options for different reasons. I have a feeling once you strap the right one on, you'll know. A thread without pictures is boring so ... |

SD. Depends on your taste and how it wears for you. Both great options but the 126600 wins out for me.

Both very different pieces. One has a useful complication and the other dose not . But thats luxury for you . If you could get your hands on the new SD , get it !

Interesting to see that the new sea dweller 43 is becoming more loved. I was suprised about all the negative reactions just after announcement. I thought it is a great watch from the beginning and will look awesome, especially when you wrists are a bit bigger (7.1" in my case).
Must admit I just bought a 116710LN and loving it but thats because I already own a blue Pelagos (which I also love and roughly same size as the 126600). In my experience a watch on your own wrist is always completely different from the pictures. You need to try them before you decide. Never liked Rolex before but tried a BLNR because a family member was looking for one and an AD nearby had one in stock. Didn't like the blue/black bezel myself but bought an LN at that store a couple of months later....... |

SD43 all the way unless you absolutely need the GMT function then go with the GMT. You will probably end up of owning both.
Our overlords at Rolex have ensured you always come back for more. #bastards :-) |

I will wear it every second day, switch it up with the Panerai. Most days I wear shirt and jeans. Work pretty casual. I have tried both SD and GMT, I thought I wanted the GMT master until I tried the SD. Thanks |

A lot depends on the size of your wrist. And if you like or need the GMT function.

Dont really need the GMT function, normally only away once a year for a few weeks.
Will also say I dont need the diving function on the SD. |

I vote for BLNR as well. Another option would be to buy the SD when your name comes up then try it out for a few months. If it doesn't work you will easily be able to flip it and buy the BLNR.
