I wonder if it would be ok.....if a Submariner was fitted with one of those special Tudor natos. Would JJ accept it?

According to an Omega rep in my local ad he said Omega are still in talks with EON to remain supplying Bonds watch, and as far as he was aware Omega are supplying the watch for the new film. Suppose we will just have to wait and find out who is going to be the new supplier.

The partnership was very lucrative for Omega the past few years. Crazy how it's really happening.

Man, that would be pure, unadulterated, first-degree MURDER!!!

How the hell can any idiot even THINK of putting such a beautiful watch on some cheap, nylon thingy? That would really get me damn furious!!!

The strap in question WAS NOT A NATO!!

It was a Regimental strap(fitted by an idiot!!!!!)

I am sure Omega is not about to drop Bond.......but we can hope......even if Omega did stop.....imagine Rolex competing for the contract????....sadly, i just cannot see it myself.

Oh, if only....

But, sad to say, Omega has sold more watches since placing Bond with a Seamaster than any time in their history....

They will pony up the price to keep Bond in Omegas..........

It would better Omega to resign with the franchise.

Omega's market share has gone up while Rolex have been declining.

I think rolex for sure. It was strange in Casion Royale, saying "Rolex, no Omega" and the women said, "Beautiful". They got it the wrong way round I'm afraid, Bond would have a timepiece the level of Rolex. Omega is too everyman, there too TAG Heuer. If not Rolex then go for something a ex navy guy would actually wear, maybe a Kobold or a Sinn. Omega are really boring and standard. Not a Patek or anything like that, too twee, too Frasier/Niles Crane.

Also, ROLEX are not shifting the units they one were, so it may be perfect timing. The DeepSea has not exactly been a winner for them sales wise.

The name hasnt been decided. Filming is set to start this year with a 2011 release. Bond 23 will most likekly be the working title, though 'Property of a Lady' and 'Risico' have been tipped for the oficial title as they are the only two Flemming titles not to have been used (excluding 'James Bond in New York', which drags on a bit.) Beyond that, there isnt much info on it.

Watch-wise, I doub't Rolex will make int in. They refused to openly advertise with 'Goldeneye' in '95 and the watches went to Omega (Tag were also in the bidding.) I can't see Rolex doing a film tie-in now either. Naturaly, the producers are unlikely to feature Rolexs gratis.

FWIW, the James Bond watches article didn't give much info other than rumors ( I saw it posted myself close to a week ago.) I for one am not holding my breath.

A man can dream though...

James Bond is too violent for Rolex. Rolex is more into golf, tennis, yachting.. and opera. Basically none-contact sports.

Rolex won't sponsor the Olympics because of performance enhancing drugs incidents.

Cheers,
