Affordable but High Quality Watch Roll

I was never really interested of owning these watch rolls as I was always a watch winder guy. As my watch collection grew, I realized that having watches in winders exposed have a higher risk of theft. With a watch roll, you can easily hide it in multiple places in the house and use it as a travel case. Besides, after reading opinions on using watch winders I decided to go to with the watch roll option.

My first and popular choice is the Everest watch roll. Right about when I was about to pull the trigger, I found this brand based in San Francisco for less than $100. Design and build quality are top notch. Similar design to higher end brands as it has the slide in/out design instead of button snaps to secure the watches.

Best feature of all is that it is full grain leather. Other similar priced watch rolls in Amazon come in faux leather. Like any other higher end full grain leather shoe, the leather seemed to be dry from the factory. They were probably sitting for months in a factory somewhere. Easy fix as shown in the pictures above is with Saphir Renovateur. Look how rich and supple it came out. Although I like the lighter tan look, I would rather condition and protect the leather.

In summary, well worth the money for what it is. You can purchase several and still won’t break the bank. So for those who are hesitant to place your hard earned money in “vegan” or “synthetic” leather rolls, this would be a great choice. You simply can’t go wrong for the price paid. However, what excites me the most is how it ages or patinas over the years.

I can post pics if needed.

They look nice. Saphir Renovateur sure is good stuff too. Not a watch winder person either, but I hope your watches kept together in rolls remain secure.

I’m in the market but not huge on the expensive ones but not so much on the really cheap Amazon ones either. This looks to fit the bill. Thanks for posting it up.

I second Rothwell. Good quality for the price. Also a big fan of Renovateur!
