Not sure if it’s a good deal or not.

Unless I needed the money I wouldn’t do the trade

I personally wouldn’t do it. But if you’ll enjoy the 16750 more….why not

I have a 2023 Pepsi and previously had a 16700. If I had to pick one, I'll keep the modern GMT. I find vintage watches delicate, and problems may soon arise. I'd prefer the modern looks and reliabilit. That's just me though.

What do you have in your current collection?

Hi Russ, I think it really fines down to the condition of the 16750. Can you post any pictures?

I'd keep the modern pepsi myself. It is destined to climb in value.

The 16750 needs some tlc, pretty dial but service off color hands, super scrachted case. What makes it appealing is that is a complete set including hang tags

Seriously? I wouldn’t even consider a trade like that. You can buy a ratty 16750 for 10k or less. Modern Pepsis are what 18-19k or so? Plus you want to go from one of the nicest modern Rolex to a poor example of a vintage model?

Just wanted to add that I would only consider a vintage watch if I acquired new and had it for all these years with the sentimental value and all.

As the market cools off, you’ll probably see more downward movement in the vintage GMT prices than the current model. Pass and add later. Plus with the vintage one you can swap the inserts out to make it feel like a different watch.

I would not. The 16750 and 16700 are my two favorites but I would not chase vintage in poor condition. Not worth it.

Who cares about hang tags? This seems to be driven by ££$$

If you prefer the 16700, do the trade.

If you prefer the ceramic GMT, don't do the trade.

If you are not sure but need the money, do the trade.

Fairly simple really.

Agree. Always buy the best version of the watch you can find. A complete set of a beat up model no way. Who cares. Your getting caught up in the hype of completeness but with a poor example

Putting the numbers aside, it really all comes down to which one you would get more enjoyment out of owning.
Personally, I prefer the modern BLRO.

I’m afraid from my experience I find the opposite!
I’ve owned many vintage Rolex watches in recent years from 1958 to 1978 models, they have all been totally reliable, not delicate at all and accurate on the other hand 2 out of 3 modern 32 series movements I’ve owned have suffered the well reported low amplitude problems so I’ve moved them on

I would personally not do that trade. You're giving up a lot of functionality and wearability. A full set 16710 with 3186 would be a different story for me though.

I would not do that trade. The modern BLRO is a great watch and wears amazing. The vintage piece is cool but there can be so many issues with vintage that I will not go down the ownership rabbit hole again. Keep your BLRO, add a Tudor BB GMT Pepsi for the vintage vibe and go on with it. Good luck.

Not a good trade imo.

It sounds like you are putting too much value in the b+p.

I’d stick with your modern classic.

Difficult to provide advice without pics.

I am a 5 digit guy so the trade would only make sense 'depending' on conditions.

The 16750 will likely need a spa visit (service) so you need to factor that into the equation.

You consider the trade because you feel 16750's value is growing up?
Then I will say no.

The 16750 depends on the condition.
Also how you use your watch is another consideration, if you like to wear your watch in water then stay with modern models.

If you prefer a vintage 5 digit then sure. I own both and there’s no way I would give up my modern GMT for a 5 digit.

Owning both 5+6 series BLRO I firmly favor the ceramic version. 5 series gets very limited wrist time. Just seems to dainty to me. Currently version is more robust and solid in many ways.

That is the word I’m trying to come up with :) Robust!
