Calling for opinions: Rolex DateJust 68258 18K President.

I have owned this watch since 2009-2010, it was purchased from a second hand store.
I'm unsure of its originality so i'm seeking advice from persons with watch experience.
Your feedback is extremely welcome. I'd like to know if it's worth further exploration to determine if it is genuine.

DETAILS: It's missing the (cyclops) and also the Rolex symbol/badge on the clasp join, although there is black scuff marks to possibly say it was once in place. I notice the bezel is off center. It feels quite weighty and has a smooth continuous rotating second hand.

This is what I've found to be a match online:

Rolex DateJust 18K President Diamond Dial And Bezel Midsize Ladies Watch

Ref# 68258
SKU - R0226193A

Kind regards, Ashlea

Not sure if it's fake or not. I googled that reference number and found several examples with the bezel aligned differently.

My red flags are the lack of cyclops and the knurling on the case back being seemingly out of place.

Was the second hand store owned by your grandfather by any chance?

You've owned this watch since 2009? For 10 years you've been wearing a fake watch. I'd be embarrassed about that.

Maybe you would, but the OP, is not an expert like you, nor are millions of others.
They come here for help, not to be put down.

Lets act politely

No need to scold me Adam.....The OP knew there was a problem or they wouldn't have said they had owned it for TEN years and just now want to know if it is fake.

Thank you Gladiator. I'm a recently new member... really 0 experience in watches. I'm in the early stages of buying my first Rolex... meaning I'm here to learn. Initially I thought I hit the jackpot with this site and all the learning I could do. But the more I read, it seems like most of it is egotistical members insulting those who are trying to learn.... I appreciate you as a moderator trying to bring the site back to being educational.

If you actually looked for an image online and compared the two you would not be asking but I suspect you wont return to this thread.

Can you provide a better photo of the black scuff? Rolex uses a special formula for the black scuff. The photo would help authenticate the watch.

Still thinking maybe this watch isn’t the worst fake in the history of fakes?

Back again, still not satisfied it's a fake. I had done a huge amount of research before i come to the forums. There's only so much you can research until you just need someone with real life experience. I am genuine, although I do understand why some of you have doubts. I have looked in supposedly trusted online stores such as chrono24 and bobswatches, found some similar watches with very close or the same weight range (roughly 61 grams) if that matters? Going to pull it out again today and hopefully get someone to remove the bracelet so i can check for serial numbers. If it's worth a link to some better photos, since these do it no justice. Let me know. Cheers

FFS it’s a fake and a crap one at that. A full gold mid size Datejust weighs significantly more than 61g.
