I think the title sums it up: an unbelievable story. Any watchmaker trained to service the B01 movement would have balked at this immediately, and I find it equally implausible that a watchmaker would put a well-paying job and his reputation on the line to scam someone out of a few grand.
Also the serial number was polished off--of the case back???
