FPJ: A Day in Miami

So, spent a full day with all the staff from the Maison in Miami. Had a lovely tour of the watchmaker facilities, a nice "photo shoot" with my new watch, dinner, strap shopping, and much rum and cigar fun! It's a beautiful location, a great place to meet other watch collectors, and the staff is second to none. So, here are some terrible photos (except one of my watch that they took for me ) of the Boutique, my new watch, other epic watches I got to wear from both staff and collectors who were in town, and other assorted fun.

Hope you enjoy! It was a great time and I am looking forward to my next trip down to visit.

Wrapping up this little photo journey with some shots of other great watches that clients who were passing through let me wear while we all tossed back large amounts of alcohol.

If you are a fan of FPJ I cannot recommend strongly enough to get down to Miami and enjoy everything the brand has to offer. It's a very special company that makes very special watches.

Don't I know it! Was having thoughts around getting a Panamera in a couple years. Now I'm wondering if I should just get a Resonance instead.

Honestly I'm not sure. I got off the plane and took an Uber to my hotel. I know next to nothing about Miami other than there are lots of beautiful women, and it was 32 degrees where I left, and 78 degrees there. I'm moving.

No, it’s Downtown. In the Epic.

Hah, those are the dilemmas one must face. Even when all the hype settles down and we have a “normal” market the Resonance will still hold better value than the Panamera so maybe it’s an easy choice !

Great photos of some killer watches. Looks like an awesome time.

And agree with others...a resonance seems like a better choice than a panamera!

I’ve spent some time with that T30 pictured before. You must have been hanging with Pierre.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. I've only been to the NY boutique to pick up some straps, but looks like I need to make it down to Miami!

Thanks for sharing this experience, it sounds great! I am a longtime FP Journe fan and plan to purchase my first one this year. I stopped in (cold, didnt speak to staff ahead of time) the Miami boutique while on pre-Covid vacation. They were very kind and brought a few pieces out to let me try on.

Congrats on your new watch. This post has made me want to get back to Miami!

Both boutiques are great. Miami is near the new downtown mall. Has an amazing bar on it. Ny is on Madison ave. Not so shabby either

That is terrific. I can’t wait to one day make to the Miami Boutique. We’re there any watches on display, new Resonance, Tourbillion, ? Congrats on the wonderful experience. I see Rocky probably took that beautiful pic of your new masterpiece.

Hey bud. Nothing on display other than a few "dummy" watches. And of course the watches from the staff and collectors who showed up during the day.

And yes, Rocky is magic with the camera!

What a day...thanks for sharing the photos. I saw the water and was wondering how you ended up there from the Design District. Good to know they moved the boutique.

I am a huge fan of FPJ but out of touch with all the puts and calls of the range.

Is this a waitlist piece? Is there anything at the boutique available for purchase sub-six-figure that isn't square?

Hey there! So, yes, this is a waitlist piece. I think generally speaking all the Optimums are wait list now, and this is an extreme example because they usually only make 1 or 2 salmons a year, if at all. Generally speaking everything except Ladies Elegantes and a couple of the sport models are sold out well into 2022. But, it's worth the wait. I got some orders in just before the real craze started and still waited 9 months on this one, and my Black Label later this year will be an almost 15 month wait start to finish. I consider myself lucky to have gotten a black dial spot (with complication) at all.

FPJ is interesting now. It would be tough to "break into" the brand now I would think, but not impossible. Takes a bit of patience and a well placed referral would help you a great deal. Good luck!
